This was the first time we had camped in Germany so we didn’t know what to expect, but I had been impressed before we arrived as I was able to reserve a pitch by e-mail for just two nights with no deposit.
The campsite is in a fantastic location, surrounded by trees and just ¾ mile from the tram-stop into Freiburg – easy walking on footpaths. The family that run that site speak excellent English and are very helpful – buy your tram ticket from them. They have a small shop in reception that sells some foods and also some camping equipment that you might need. Wifi is free and worked well from our pitch.
According to previous reviews the sanitary block is new and I believe it. It is fantastic – in the ladies toilets apart from fresh flowers there are 6 toilets, 2 washbasins (with smart lever taps) and soap. Toilet paper is provided and a fast drying hand dryer. The showers are very roomy with a small ledge in the shower and a big ledge in the dressing area with hooks. The showers have a good flow with a thermostatic lever valve.
Eating out: You can turn left out of the campsite and walk for about ½mile to a pizzeria or you can turn right out of the campsite and eat at Waldsee, the restaurant on the lake. Even better, you can eat at the restaurant on the campsite which serves excellent high quality meals.
There is a spa next to the site and if you stay at the campsite you can claim a discount.
Pitch was 25.80€ per night and we would happily return.

Within walking distance of Freiburg and shops although the site has on sale basic essentials. We were initially told that we could only stay for one night (18.06.14) as it was leading up to a holiday weekend and most sites in the region were fully booked. We asked if they could let us know if anyone cancelled, which they did the following day and we stayed for five days. Good walking in the forest to suit a range of abilities and round a small lake opposite the site with restaurant, ice cream and pedal and rowing boats. The on site restaurant is very good and all the staff are very helpful and multi lingual, the site also has a facility offering treatments but I was unable to book a massage at a time that suited our planned activities. The showers, toilets, washing facilities are excellent and a lot of thought has gone into the design of these facilities.

We were greeted at the campsite by the owner who was extremely friendly and helpful.
We stayed for one night but I could have easily stayed longer. It is a lovely small campsite, very busy and with excellent amenities....better than some hotels that I have stayed in.

The price is extremely reasonable and there is wifi available.

Everything is really clean and well looked after.

Overall, wonderful atmosphere and great hospitality.

Stayed one night as a stopover to our roadtrip to Switzerland. The owners were very helpful as I emailed to reserve a spot, they were almost full but accommodated our small tent.
Place is nice and spacious and good space between tents.
Shower facilities were very clean, and we had a nice warm shower before we left the next morning. They sold some little necessities at the reception area (in case u forget stuff or need snacks)
Nice family run campsite! Very reasonable prices. Loved the cosy place, enjoyed our short stay and would highly recommend them! :)
Hugs from Singapore to little Merlon ;)
