Herrenmuhle is a lovely, classy restaurant with a lovely romantic ambiance upstairs but very uncomfortable seating. The chairs were so small that it was uncomfortable for dining. The downstairs seemed more casual and was geared more for larger groups and the second floor had more of a date night type setting. We felt the menu was limited with choices like ox, venison, chicken, 2 fish choices, veal with an apricot sauce; just very unusual choices if you are not a meat eater. I chose the salmon and it layed in a wonderful butter sauce. My husband got the venison and he said it was pretty good. Of course, the portions were very small but we are not big eaters any more, so it was fine. Service was attentive but not obtrusive. Would I come back? Probably not as there are so many wonderful places to eat in Heidelberg with better menus.
