We ordered canapés for lunch. What we got were two slices of french bread, mine with RAW shrimp. I don't like RAW shrimp and asked the waitress if I could change the order.
She then, patronisingly, began to lecture me on what canapés are: something Raw on bread.
She was in her early twenties, I am a mature, food loving, cookbook reading, cooking enthusiast.
Of course canapés can be cold as well as hot and are something savoury on a piece of toast or fried bread, they are usually eaten as an entree.
I wonder who is in the kitchen in the SCHWARZER WALFISH, certainly it can't be a qualified chef not even a well informed cook of any kind, where else did she get her information?
