This was the end point for our mountain hike (also checked out points of interest such as Philosopher's Walk & Thingstatte). It was really interested to see the ruins; the city of Heidelberg has put up plaques amongst the ruins to show what each room was once used for. If you enjoy history & architecture (as well as hiking & nature!), you will find this landmark worth the hike. Once we reached the monastery ruins, we spent about an hour wandering around, inspecting every room - generally getting a feel for what it may have been like to walk the rooms when the monastery was in existence.
