“Quite good”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

I was there for 5 days for business.
The room was at the top floor with an amazing view on the city.
It was clean and silent.
The breakfast was good with several different foods.
15 minutes by walk from the castle.

Room Tip: On the top floor you can have an amazing view.

I stayed here as part of a Trafalgar tour. Excellent rooms, Friedly staff, and First Class breakfast and dinner, Very Clean and free wi-fi. I enjoyed my stay especially the food. One of the best hotels in Europe in terms of real value considering service, quality of rooms and food served. I have no reservations whatsoever.

Nothing special about the hotel, good for an one night stop. Clean room, comfortable beds,
AC available but a bit too noisy. No WiFi in the room.
German style breakfast with a lot of meat selection (sausage, fish, chicken, cold cuts). :)

Booked this through an online Booking site and had not been informed of the name change - double pain because firstly, it was impossible to find - we actually ended up going into the Leornardo to ask where it was, only to be told that we were in it! Secondly it means that I was not able to accrue Best Western Reward points for the stay. The rooms we were allocated were adequate - ours was on the 10th floor, Mum was a twin on the 5th floor. Both were pretty similar, not massive actually, and ours was in need of a little TLC - there was a huge crack in the bathroom basin, the door on the fridge was wonky and there was general wear and tear evident. We decided to eat in the hotel as we had lost time trying to find the place, getting stuck in the Karlsruhe traffic [road works and a closed junction did not help August 2013] - we were told that there was a buffet style meal available, or the small menu [room service menu], for 19euro we had the buffet option which was adequate - pretty simple choices - salads and bread, tomato soup, chicken, fish, pork, potatoes, rice, couscous, mixed vegetables and desserts - jelly, chocolate mousse, fresh fruit salad, baked cheesecakes. We had a very good glass of house white and some fresh juice too. The service in the restaurant was very nice - the waitress kept looking up phrases in English to use as she took our plates etc and was generally really pleasant to everyone. The hotel seems to be focussed on larger groups and conference style activities, but was OK for our overnight stay. If I am honest I would not consider it worth the 70euro we paid - especially not for one person staying in the room (we had a much better room including an amazing breakfast in Leonberg on the way down to Austria for only 5 euros more) So I probably would not use this hotel again, but it was perfectly adequate.

We stayed at the Leonardo as part of our Trafalgar tour package. The hotel was quaint and accomodating. Rooms were decent, when you enter your hotel room you go through a short hallway to get to the bedroom. In the hallway was your bathroom and also a closet to put your things. The bedroom, while not roomy was sufficient for one or two people, containing a chest of drawers, an old type tv and a small table with 2 chairs. the shower/bath was sufficient, while the vanity area had a large mirror it also had a separate mirror extension to do your shaving or makeup. They provided a soap bar for the vanity and bath. the bath also had liquid soap. They also provided Nivea antiperspirant for the men. I later found that wifi (or internet service) was available for free, wish they had mentioned it when checking in.

Dinner at the hotel was good, unfortunately because it was a holiday mostly everything else was closed in the area. There is a shopping complex 15 minutes away but it also was closed for the holiday.

Room Tip: Free internet available though others mentioned it was slow.

The hotel located between main train station and city center, tram in front of the hotel will take you to both locations in a few minutes:
Pro:
Good selection at breakfast.
Quiet room and comfortable bed.
Convenient location
Decent price
Cons:
Internet has lot of problems and is slow most of the time.
Small elevators - not enough at busy morning time.

to summarize - hotel is ok for the price but thing twice if good internet connection is important to you.
