We booked this hotel due to it having AC and the location. The AC barley works, and our room remained too warm! Ugh! But the location is better than perfect as it is easy walking to a ton of restaurants, shopping and the Mannheim HBF. The room itself was very nice, roomy, new and clean. No free wifi- which is ridiculous! This would be a 5 star if the AC worked properly and it had wifi.

Well located, close to the train station (great for arriving to Mannheim by train from the Frankfurt airport) this hotel is handy and clean. I am to say I was pleased to see, after thinking my check in would take hours when a tourist coach arrived at the same time I did, the staff at reception was able to find my booking and give me a key in 3 minutes. The room temperature was quite high (for me) and the fact windows can be opened helped, it is a good thing. The swimming pool upstairs is nice (if alone) and four strokes is enough to cross it (just watch your head); but for an upstairs pool it is ok, a lot of weight to hold that amount of water. The real pity was the fact wi-fi is not included and prices for connection are a rip off: 12 EUR for a 12 hour connection. It is not easy to justify such price when a full day in the ICE train costs less than half . Breakfast is quite limited for this hotel and the restaurant looked empty of any life.
In summary, a nice hotel in terms of location and cleanliness, but the wifi cost really pushes it down.

Hotel was in a very good position in the centre of town within walking distance of all main sites. Parking available on site. The breakfast was definitely not worth 18 euros. The rolls were hard and dishes which were meant to be hot were cold.
The room was good but Mannheim is not a very inspiring city looking very sixties. We would not visit this city again.

Room Tip: Choose a room on high floor with a good view - not of the flats opposite!

Location is Great!!! It is located in the central area of the city and in the central shopping district. Good breakfast spread.

AC and helpfulness is another subject.

Upon arrival we found the parking in the dungeonesque like, extremely narrow, parking garage to be the worst ever. A German friend of ours told us that this is the worst hotel parking garage in Mannheim!

The front desk staff did not offer directions, or any help for getting our luggage up from the third floor sub-level and we had to ask for a luggage trolley. One was not even offered.

After getting our luggage up to the room we found that the room was like a crypt; dead, stale, hot air. Not only did the room NOT HAVE efficient AC, when I went to the desk to have it turned on, the desk man said that the hotel was on central cooling and that there was nothing they could do. In essence - too bad - so sad. No AC to be had. We had witnessed other guests complaining of the same thing over our two night stay, only to hear them be told that it was an old system and to wait a 1/2 hour, or that it was a new system and it took time to cool things down.

Don't believe it - this hotel AC sux! The lobby is hot, the hallways are hot, the rooms are hot! Opening the window in the room doesn't really help as the air did not really flow down the side street the hotel is on and there also aren't any screens on the window and the street noise during the night is disruptive.

I would trade the location of this hotel for one that actually has guest comfort in mind.

Room Tip: Choose a different hotel in the hot spring and summer months. It was like sleeping in a crypt, unles...

Leonardo Hotel is the old Holiday Inn, nevertheless the new-old hotel stays the same, good infrastructure within the Quadrat (city center of shops) within Mannheim.
The location is pretty handy for purchases and also near the Watertower and about 1 km from the train main station.
The breakfast is pretty complete with a nice terrace for outdoor's feeling while enjoying a nice cappucino (from the big automatic coffee machine) and a piece of toast and german delicious cheeses! The pool and sauna (on the 5th floor) remains a good relaxing options as the bar and bartender, ever since, very spirituous! ;-)
At last, the value is pretty cost efficient, as taking all this benefits into account!

Last time have been there for business. Nice, clean, convenient. Services and staff all are pleasant. Good location, not far from all attractions, as well as from railway station and car rental offices. The shopping centers and restaurants are about walking distance from the hotel. Breakfast buffet as for me is enough, with plenty of fruits

Travelled with a family and they accommodated us with adjoining rooms. The photo on this site is dated and the rooms have been somewhat redone and look much better. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Location right in the centre of town. Breakfast (included) was very good. For a 4-star hotel and for what we paid, I could not ask for more.
