“Not quite city centre”
Reviewed 28 November 2012

Stayed here to watch Lionel Ritchie in Concert at the Hanns Martin Schleyerhalle Porsche Arena at NeckarPark.
The hotel is near the city centre, and not signposted. If you arrive by train you turn left out of the station and left again up the main four lane road. About a ten minute walk all the way up the main road. Nearest underground station was TUERLENSTRASSE which is a three to four minute walk away from the hotel, across the main road. The next stop on this was the main train station.
We had a deluxe inner courtyard room. Not big but OK for two people. Had a platter of fruit, a big Sony flatscreen TV with loads of channels, a coffee machine, table etc. The bathroom was small but functional with toiletries. Power shower in a shower cubicle was very nice. Hotel staff were very friendly. Cost of taxi from station to hotel was €5, and that was a 01.30am. We had a Queen size bed but only a single duvet, which we could not understand, but we had two pillows. Would recommend this hotel. Also if you do get the train back to the Airport (Flughafen) it is not on the main platforms, but on the underground near platform 3. To get to the arena, get to the subway at the station and look for U15 to Neckarpark, takes 20 minutes and runs regularly before and after a concert.

where do i begin

its a fair opition if your desperate to be close to the airport or the exhibition centre...other than that i wouldnt bother

rooms and sheets stink of cigerettes with no air refreshing between guests.

you have to pay for internet even though its extremely slow

and the food is completely overpriced and late... it took 1.5 hrs just to get room service.

avoid unless being close to the stuttgart exhibition centre is your primary concern.

Stayed for a weekend break. Good location;clean and functional room; great restaurant staff - friendly and dealt very well with a full capacity restaurant at breakfast. Slow checkout- asked the restaurant manager for help. He said he could not help as he did not know how to check-out, and said the trainee on reception would check me out; he did not offer to find the front-desk manager. The front-desk manager appeared some time later and checked me out. Not a text-book example of leadership and team-work.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the front of the hotel if you want to sleep- there is a busy main road and...

Had a group reservation for 13 and everything was great. Visited with us toners to go to the Porsche Museum. Room was clean, modern and value. There was a local fest going on so the bar was quiet in the early evening, bartender was awesome and she recommended an excellent restaurant for us. Breakfast in the morning was ver good. I would definitely stay here again. Very convenient to the main train station.

This is a decent hotel in central stuttgart. Despite the hotel's name, I wouldn't say it was located in the citiy centre, I had to take public transport to reach what I would call the city centre. Rooms were clean and staff were always friendly and helpful.

Anyone visiting Stuttgatt and wishes to stay at a reasnoble priced 4 star hotel,We stayed there the first weekend of the Stuttgart Beer festival, I would recomend the Mercure hotel Stuttgart City Centre, it is as it says within a short walking distance of both the city centre and Railway station, the hotel is very clean, it has nice rooms with comfortable beds and 32inch LCD TVs, even if the rooms face the main road you hardley hear the traffic because of the double glazed windows, the breakfasts they supply are very good with plenty to choose from, I will book this hotel again if visiting Stuttgart, and recomend it to anyone.

Stayed one night on home bound journey to England. Good location and enjoyed a pleasant walk by the river within 5 mins walk from hotel. Room was very large. Breakfast had excellent choice and catered everyone. Would stay again when next touring. No hesitation in recommending this hotel.
