“Good night's sleep, but expensive for what it is”
Reviewed 2 February 2013

I had a good night's sleep here although the room faced outwards to the main street with trams passing. Staff very polite and helpful, but decor very tired and room couldn't really be said to have shower... more a hose! Maybe they'll fix it. Hopefully the hotels where I normally stay won't be booked out next time.

The hotel is within a short walk to the next tram stop - only a quick ride to the city center. If you come by car - parking during the week on street only until 8am. Basic rooms - some rooms are now updated with new and nice bathrooms. Rooms towards the street can be loud - lot of traffic noise. Very nice breakfast - with a big choice - and friendly service. Breakfast room has been renovated. Cheap wireless throughout the hotel. A few decent restaurants within walking distance. Good choice if you are not spending much time in the room, a good breakfast, and a good location. Very good price value.

The hotel is located in a residential area, three tram stops from the city center, and within walking distance to SWR broadcasting company and the famous mineral baths.
The rooms are nothing special, at the bottom range for three-star accommodation. Pretty old fashioned (looks like 70's) but clean.
No restaurant on site (but enough within walking distance), no special amenities. No wireless Internet.
Breakfast is average.
A hotel to get a good night's sleep, but nothing to write home about.

Stayed in Bavaria Hotel Muenchner Hof for three nights last April (2004). It's a short (3 stops) tram ride away from the city centre in a safe residential area. Traffic can get a bit noisy. Tram tickets are available from the reception. We did not socialise in the area, preferring the city centre - there didn't seem to be a great number of restaurants or bars around there anyway.

This small hotel is very unprepossessing from the outside - our hearts sank a little when we saw it. Once inside though, it's more cheerful with friendly staff who - for the most part - have a good command of English

The rooms are small and spotless, and were cleaned every day. Bathrooms are adequate - again were very clean, but a bit old-fashioned. A nice buffet breakfast (cold meats, cheeses, breads, yoghurts, tea & coffee) was provided downstairs. The hotel does not have a bar.

Other travellers were weekenders like ourselves - all German Overall it offers excellent value for money. I'd have no hesitation in staying there again.
