“Excellent value in a great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014

We chose this hotel based on a recommendation in the TA forum and we were not disappointed. It is located in a quiet area just a few minutes of walk from the Schloissplatz and the main shopping district. Our room was rather small and basic but was more than adequate for what we paid for. Excellent breakfast served in a nice closed terrace (also an open terrace when weather permits). Staff was friendly and helpful. The on-premises parking is a nice bonus though space was limited. Bottom line it is highly recommended if you are looking for a center location in a reasonable price.

This is one of the few affordable hotels near the city centre, which was 5 min walk away.
Summerfest was held in the city centre during our stay, which makes it more interesting.
Room generally clean.
Small toilet.
Soft bed.
Average European breakfast.
Intermittent WIFI.

This hotel is very good, the room was a good size, and very clean, there was a comfortable bed, and a desk. Breakfast was plentiful. Hotel was close to transport within easy walking distance, the friendly staff provided us with a map of area and marked on that map where all the places we could visit were. There were shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. The neighbourhood was quiet. Wi Fi was available.
There is a lift so you can take your luggage upstairs. Only problem we can say is you may have a little problem with parking if you have a car. Our stay here was great.

Easy to find, hotel city is very close to Main Street, has a private parking and the staff is very kind and courtesies. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is served in a patio with fresh food. Good coffee too (I'm Italian...).
In Stuttgart maybe this is the best place for the best value money.
I'll be back.

City Hotel, in Stuttgart’s old, unique “Bean Quarter” was my first stop on a German holiday with my nephew. The small hotel is modern and clean with nice bathrooms and an elevator and free Wi-Fi. I loved the breakfast buffet of cheeses, cold meats, fresh fruit, yogurt, and a variety of breads, jams and cereals all presented in a most appealing way. I especially enjoyed eating at a beautifully set table in the sunroom. I thought it was first class treatment to find the labeled cups on warmers for a variety of coffee choices including Espresso, Macchiato, Cafe Latte, etc. The coffee machine ground the beans fresh when you made your choice. The front desk staff speaks English. The male desk clerk was very pleasant and provided helpful information about the nearby Bean Quarter’s German and other ethnic restaurants and original shops. Most restaurants don’t open for dinner until 5pm. Locals live and work in the neighborhood and its a wonderful, safe location for strolling. There is a market, coffee shop, and sandwich shop at the subway station just a block or two from the hotel. The hotel is also just a short 10 minute walk to see the beautiful Altes Schloss and Neus Schloss in the city center and to browse on Königstraße shopping street. When we arrived, we took a cab to the hotel (8 euros form the main train station.) When we left, we took the convenient U-Bahn back to the train station for about 1,30 euros each. The day we left, when my nephew turned off his computer, unexpectedly, it started running an automatic update. He said he couldn’t turn the computer off until it finished. I went down to check out about 10 minutes late and explained the situation. My nephew came down a few minutes later. The female desk clerk’s reaction was to lecture me that I knew check out was at 12pm. That was frustrating and an uncomfortable way to end our otherwise very lovely stay. I do recommend the hotel if you will be in Stuttgart.

Room Tip: We were happy with our room at the end of a hallway on a higher floor. The elevator made it easy to...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in early December. Our room was clean and of average size-we did not feel cramped with our luggage. The location is good-we were about a 10 minute walk from the Christmas Market, and did not feel unsafe walking there or back. Breakfast was adequate-meats, cheeses, rolls, cereal, fruit salad...The breakfast room was a pleasant area to begin your day.

If the above criteria were the only things I was evaluating about this hotel, I would have given it only 3, perhaps 4 stars. It is average. What made this hotel excellent for us was the staff. Sylvia and Phillip were a delight!. They were always warm and welcoming, and eager to assist us in any way they could. I simply can not say enough good things about them!

This small hotel is located in a side street in the city centre but it will still take you 20-30 min from the central train station to walk. The furniture may seen a bit out dated but the rooms are a good standard size with a excellent shower. The breakfast area is in a sort of extension made from glass which is really nice. The breakfast is good but no hot food. Free wifi and a free computer in the small lobby.
