Mercedes Benz is clearly written all over stuttgart. Don't give this a MISS
Pl don't mistook this as just a Car Museum. Actually it does tell you history of mankind with all imp inventions/events from 1890 onwards. English audio guide(Free of Cost) was hugely helpful. Entry is just 8€ (Cheap Vs UK standards) and true value for Money. How they started in 1890 to economic crisis of 20s which forced merger of Mercedes with Daimler to World War 2 and afterwards- very insightful. Thoroughly enjoyed. Pl don't miss this and take out at least 5hrs to enjoy this beauty.

Being just a curious tourst, not being specifically into the cars, I stayed impressed by the architecture & interior design of the museum building.

The fee is 8 euros for a person. Other combinations for groups & kids etc are also offered.

The tour begins from the top of the building, where you get with one of the three corner elevators, designed as for a science fiction & or a James Bond movie. First what waits you up there, its an unexpected surprise:).

Before to start you are offered to take audio headsets, but if you do - it will focus you only onto the cars. I suggest reading as a long forgotten skill, since the writings on the walls as you go down the floors fallow the biggest moments from the history of the human race and industrial & technological revolution (developing of the engine is just a part of it, connected with all the main historical happenings, including Einstein, nazis, all the good and bad stuff the humans did since they exist......). Museum gives the complete evolution - context to the development of the engine. Its enough to read only the titles along the way and to see the illustrations to picture the complete history of the human kind in just one museum visit. And that has nothing to do with the cars, but with the general education.

Old cars are the beauty for itself. Stories connected to it also. For example, there is a car that never broke, there is only one exemplar of it and its kept in the museum. You don't have to be a car lover to enjoy it.

The view to the Mercedes Benz Arena and the city area from the top and as you go down is great.

Cameras of any kind are allowed in the museum. You can take the photos and record.

If you stuck to everything, you will get tired fast. There is a toilette on the half way down.

Computers with the projections are everywhere, you can sit and watch the documentaries on the different subjects.

Near the end, there is a flight simulator. You can enter for 4 euros, only cash accepted, and it says its on your own responsibility. Read the list of the health issues that says when not to take the risk, its sticked to the simulator wall.

One floor is underground. It has creative corner - for kids - tables with the papers for drawing are everywhere. Every paper has the car wheels already drawn on it, so, after seeing the variety of the existing car designs through the history, kids can play drawing their own visions. And I am sure somebody there is to fallow possible young talents. There is a place to buy some souvenirs, and a restaurant with an elegant terrace.

All my respect to the architecture, design and the global idea concept of it. Its much more than the simple car show, its a history. Mercedes Benz is a general sign above the whole Stuttgart. Its stays even as a top sign on the train station view towel, as a signature. Who ever passes Stuttgart without seeing this museum, could have passed some other city with no difference, he missed to see the essence of the city. Impressive old buildings & castles & churches are the other side of the city face.

It´s not just for car lovers. It is a museum that tells the history of the brand, the car and the world in parallel. It is, with no doubts, the best attraction in town and you must go if you are in Stuttgart. Wonderful

We paid a little extra and MB guy walks with you while telling you about historical progression of the cars. Very nice and no reading or digging, just walk and listen. Gift shop in basement o.k., cafe is nice and lovely location surrounded by cars. If you like cars you will enjoy.
