“Re-visit to Bar Fiaker”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

My visits in the past were so positive, that I decided to re-visit with 8 others. This is a small facility, but they accepted my reservations for 9. It was spectacular. The food, service and atmosphere is the very best. The food quality was great with serving sizes that are unbelieveably large.Don't forget the house red wine; it is great. The bar is quite small inside, so accommodating all of us together did not come without effort on their part. Our entire group agreed that it was the "best" of all. We enjoyed the entire visit along with all the others in the bar. I plan to visit again in December this year with a party of 13, if I can get reservations.

“Performance of Bar Flaker”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 November 2013

Based on your posted reviews, my daughter and I went there in September. It was great, just like most of your reviewers commented. The house red wine was, as noted, GREAT. The menu is limited and the place doesn't hold many; but it's worth your time. We went back twice. I plan to revisit again with my friends and family next June.(If we will all fit).

“Sorry, there is no place”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2013

When we entered this joint, looked around to have a place to sit , the lady behind the bar said, "sorry, there is no place". We offered, to wait while having beers, she again reiterated the sorry no place. Basically she was saying leave. Won't go back again although we are staying within proximity. We are frequenting Werdenfelser Hof restaurant which is very close by.

Enjoy.

“Overworked...but for good reason!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2013

The first night we entered the Fiaker, we were told it would be an hour to get an order, even though the restaurant appeared only half full. We stayed, but just had a snack (unique, fresh and delicious bruschetta) and a dessert (simple and not too sweet yogurt and fruit parfait with a sweet jelly treat at the bottom); it didn't take an hour.

The next night we arrived earlier, but were told all the outdoor tables were reserved. Inside, we had a schnitzel natur - perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and with addictive fried potatoes alongside - and a fine ham and cheese baguette, plus extra-fresh salads. (By the way, we could have had our entire dinner before the reserved outdoor tables were filled...)

The woman who serves food and drink is a whirling dervish, in constant motion. That makes the service a little less than herzlich at times, and it can take some time and effort to get her attention. But, the freshness and clear cooked-to-order nature of the food reveals why she's so busy...this is a starred restaurant traveling incognito as a bar.

Good prices, and great food. Outdoor tables offer lovely views of the old main street of Partenkirchen; indoors offers a kitschy, warm feeling with seemingly random tchotchkes and such.

“Best restaurant in Garmisch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2013

While strolling through the beautiful snow in December of 2012 we walked into this wonderful little restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the food was delicious! The chef brought my order to the table himself in a black iron skillet. One of my favorite restaurants while touring Germany and Italy.
