“Nice short staying.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 March 2013

Spend three days in a business conference and it felt great. The location is surrounded by beautiful landscapes and the room was perfect. Room's living room on bottom floor with nice furniture and a veranda with great view. Second floor with nice and comfortable bed, where you could still see outside. Hotel employees were helpful when needed.

Stayed November 2012, travelled on business

The hotel is not that suberb as the classification ****S promises.
The hotel has a nice pittoresque setting (30' of walk from the center) but avoid this hotel when you don't have a car available.
The sauna area is rather small and basic but there is a large swimming-pool.
The rooms are correct with a terrace, they are clean but not so large.
The breakfast is Ok, but the dinners are not very gastronomic.

Room Tip: Ask for al lake view room. They have a nice view and a sunny terrace.

Went there to book a dinner reservation on December 3rd, 2012. Three people at the front desk and no one even asked if they could help me. Told them I used to stay at the property and wanted to make a reservation for dinner. They said go to the rest. and I did, no-one was there!

Went back to the front desk, and told them no-one was there, they said someone was going to bring an English menu to me in lobby, Never happened.

Went back upstairs and met a young chef, he informed me the no longer have menu's in English!

Will not waste my time with this place and frankly, I don't think they will be in business at this rate. This was once one of my favorite Marriott properties in the World, but will not go back!

My sister-in-law booked the room so I didn't know what to expect. We received a suite with an upstairs and downstairs and two bathrooms (upstairs bathroom had a bidet). Both bathrooms were large and the lotion, shampoo and conditioner (a rarity in europe) were of exceptional quality. The bathrobes and complimentary slippers were also appreciated when we came back from a day trip of pour rain. To take a hot shower and lounge in a bathrobe with slippers was a treat. The furniture was beautiful and the pant press was appreciated. The breakfast was very good and Sunday's spread included Prosecco for mimosas. The inside restaurant was okay and a bit spendy but the one gentleman manning service of the whole dining room was exceptionally service oriented. My one complaint is that I started my "special time" unexpectedly my first night. They had NO feminine products at all - not to purchase, not as stand-by's at the front desk, not in the public bathrooms. Hummmm.

Room Tip: If you can get it, rooms with a view of the lake and mountain are wonderful.

Located out of Garmisch, the hotel has a nice spa and pool. There is a pleasant lake which one of the serveral restaurants at the resort overlooks. The rooms were interesting as the room we had was situated with the bed in a loft. No problems for us, but could be a problem for elderly people.

Very nice hotel. Wait staff were very nice. Would recommend again. A little expensive but worth it. Not many speak english but it was OK. Beautyful location on the lake. Suggest walking the trails to the Bobsled sites. It is worth it to see the Olympic sites from 1936.

Room Tip: Don't choose the Maisonette Suite, its not worth the extra $. We also had a double room, very n...

We booked the Christmas special and the New-Year special offer.
Stayed with our three Kids (9-7-1) in a nice Maisonette Suite. Very friendly staff, Hotel Director Mr.Zinn always kind. We njoyed the Pool and the very good Ski-school Service for the Kids.
The Christmas evening was marvelous ! Traditional music (Zitter, Guitar), gifts and story-tales for the Kids. Champaign at the Christmastree and a very good gala dinner in a lovely arranged restaurant !
Days between the holiday we njoyed in the city/town which is 30 Minutes walk from the Hotel (Downhill) or went to some of the mountain shelter which are all around the location.
The New Year´s Eve was awesome !
Kids were in the Kids-Club until 10.30 p.m. we´ve njoyed the fantastic gala dinner !!
The staff (!) cared for our Baby with addiction.
Almost over the top the display of fireworks with sound and vision was impressing !
If you wanna stay in Bavaria for Christmas vacation, skiing and a outstanding good location you should book the Special arrangements in the Rissersee Resort !
Thks 4 that good time we´ver had !
It would be in total excellent if.... the price would not be that high ;-)

Room Tip: Rooms with view to the City are very nice, Maisonette Suite with Lake view are renovated and even be...
