Pro: The location of the hotel is good, which is close to city centre. There are free parking spaces around the hotel.

Cons: The hotel is so old that you will probably hear some noise from the floor when you're walking on it. The breakfast buffet only provides very limited choice of food, very unattractive.

Not recommend to stay here unless no other better choice

Sometimes a five-star rating is more of a curse than a blessing. Guests have a heightened expectation, which the hotel is unable to meet. It is a better than average, but typical Geman family-run hotel. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, but not perfect. There was a leak in the bathroom, a broken basin plug, and jamming drawers. Nothing particularly serious, but definitely not five-star. The automatic (movement sensitive) bathroom light turns itself off when you are in the shower (scary!) Food in the restaurant is just about adequate for groups, but nothing special, although the a la carte is apparently better. We were part of a group, and had to choose from a very limited menu the day before. A fabulous location, between Garmisch and Partenkirchen, close to the main station, and the Zugspitzbahn. A footpath by the side of the hotel leads along the river, staight up into the mountains. Cold breakfast is ample, and good quality (smoked salmon on Sundays!). Limited hot food available to order, bur service not great. All in all, far pfrom perfect, but, yes, we would stay there again, mostly because of the location.

The accommodation is not a high class hotel. It is an old world ski resort type (we go there at the end of summer) The room is rustic and yet spacious. The common area is a bit tired and rustic, I guess the European skiers appreciate that kind of charm. The hotel actually situated on one of the main street and very close to the main train station.
The buffet breakfast is quite good and the breakfast room is nice and sunny. The Reindl's Restaurant for dinner is very popular and serve very good food and have an extensive menu. Price is reasonable too.
All the staff are helpful and friendly. We were given a tourist pass that allow us to use the public transit free of charge. We we were allow to leave our car in their garage after checking out so we can explore the Alps. This place is well managed. I would stay there again if I am going back to ski.
