On a quiet street just a three minute walk from the shopping district, yet the hotel sits beside a glacial stream, with mountains visible all around the beautiful patio and garden. Open your door and be amazed at the spacious rooms. We were well served by a very professional and attentive staff in this pleasant, family run hotel. The whole building is decorated in classic Bavarian style, and everything is immaculately clean. We didn't have a chance to enjoy the bar or restaurant, as the Garmish summer festival provided fun and food on this visit. Great access to valley and mountain walking paths.

Room Tip: Please choose a river side, versus street side room, for quiet setting and great views.

Garmisch is located in one of the loveliest parts of Germany, and this family-owned hotel's decor and rooms matches its setting. The exterior of the hotel is nice, but doesn't "wow" you--it's the interior that impresses. All three of our rooms were enormous, even the two first-floor single rooms for our younger family members, which actually seemed to be the size of suites! Our double comfort room on the third floor included a large living area, comfortable bed, a balcony and views of the mountains. It was also nice to drop off to sleep with the sound of the river rushing below us. The breakfast was good, and freshly prepared eggs were available for no additional cost. The location was perfect, within easy walking distance of the town and trails in the valley. You really get a lot for your money at the Edelweiss--we will definitely return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the mountains

Garmish Partenkirschen is a beautiful little town, right in the centre of a beautiful mountain range. The area is full of natural beauty and we found we could do as much or as little as we wanted. The hotel itself is fantastic and the service we received there was second to none. The welcome we received made us feel very good to be there and the lady even carried my case to my room on the second floor, where we found our lovely room. I am writing this review whilst sitting on the balcony of the room we had there. The room is huge and spotlessly clean, we had a wonderful view over the superbly kept gardens and then the mountains. YThe hotel has a wading pool that has freezing cold water from the mountains refilled daily,Mathis is most refreshing. The area is very hot at the moment, and I am not sure if this is usually the case but it made it a true summer holiday for my husband and myself, well done to all at the Hotel Edelweiss for a wonderful stay

Three of us stayed one night in a beautiful room located on the third level. The room was very large with beautiful furniture and a very large modern bathroom. A wonderful breakfast buffet was included in a very charming breakfast room. We stayed in four different hotels during our stay in Germany and this was the best breakfast of our stay. The hotel is located in a residential area within walking distance of the cute town of Garmisch. For 6 Euro we parked in their underground garage. The knowledge and helpfulness of the staff varied. There is no air conditioning in the hotel, so we needed to keep our windows open. Unfortunately, as our room faced the front/street side of the hotel and it was quite loud. If possible, request a room facing their courtyard. All in all, a pleasant stay in a great location.

Room Tip: Rooms on the garden/courtyard side would be much quieter.

We stayed at this Hotel for about 10 days in February 2012 as a family of four (with our two daughters aged two and four). To put it briefly, this is certainly one of the best family hotels that we have seen. Wonderful staff, great location, excellent food, comfortable accommodations. The owners are outstanding hosts and definitely make your stay a very pleasant experience. I strongly recommend this hotel to any family who is planning a trip to Garmisch-Partenkirchen!

Room Tip: If you are a family with one or two little kids (aged up to 10 or so) you should consider asking for the apartment that the hotel has on the top floor.
