We drove in at night and were treated to a gorgeous view of the lighted castles. The hotel is in the most convenient location to view the two castles.

Upon check in (after 9 pm) we were delighted to learn that the hotel would order the tickets for us and we could pick them up in the morning!

The hotel was clean and cute, but the rooms could have be nicer. Although, this is most likely a one night stay for most people so I suppose the room does not need to be a luxury one.

We did sleep with the window open since it was a bit warmer than we expected and we could hear occasional conversations as people walked by.

**Note, we were there on a Friday in September and they hold concerts in Neuschwanstein on Friday and Saturday nights. We were too late to attend, but it would be worth going back for.

The hotel is located right at the base of Neuschwanstein so it makes it very convenient. Parking is included for hotel guests, so you can save some $$. The hotel staff is friendly and was wonderfully helpful, conversing easily in English. We were fortunate enough to have tickets for a Wagner Opera in the Sangersaal in the Castle. (One week in September every year there are live performances). The room was adequate and spotless. Breakfast was a nicely done buffet and was included in the room. This is a great hotel to stay at to get a jump on visiting the castle in the morning before the stream of tour buses start to arrive.

Here's the 1,2,3s...

1. Old style room that seems to be kept fresh and clean.

2. VERY helpful desk staff with great information and they will even pick up your reserved castle tickets for you so you don't have to stand in line.

3. Bed is mostly worn out (concave in the center). Some residual noise from other rooms above/beside you.

I chose this hotel because of the great reviews. It met all expectations. Of the 8 places we stayed during our trip to Germany, Hotel Mueller was my favorite. We arrived after 9 pm, but the staff was able to seat us for dinner in the restaurant before it closed for a private event. Our room was very roomy and comfortable. As I had read in previous reviews, we were able to order tickets that evening at the reception desk for the 2 castles. By 8:15 am the next morning, we had tickets in hand without the hassle of standing in line at the ticket center (which is conveniently located next to the hotel). The only things that could diminish my 5-star review: the hotel's private parking lot will only accommodate about 15 vehicles and the breakfast buffet did not offer as much variety as I would have liked, but we did not leave the table hungry. I would definitely stay at the Hotel Mueller again.

What can I add that have not been stated by other readers. They are all true. Highly recommneded. We traveled throughout Germany and Austria by car and this was one of the best places we stayed. Check in was fast and efficient. They booked the tickets so you don't have to wait in line. Wonderful staff and hospitality.

We've stayed in this hotel this August for 3 nights with my parents.
We had 2 rooms - a single one and a twin one. Both rooms were very nice, comfortable, clean and the twin one was very spacy.
This hotel is located in a beautiful place, next to amazing lake, forest and mountains, just near the castles, - it's a very comfortable location.
But the most amazing thing is its staff. They took us by car to the nearest village when we needed to find a pharmacy (it wasn't an emergency). They helped me to find an idea to congratulate my father on his Birthday. They have always been very helpful answering all our questions. And the most fascinating thing they have made is: after having stayed in this place we went for one day to Munich. A day after when we were supposed to take a plane to go back to Moscow my father realized that he had forgotten his passposrt in this hotel. The hotel helped us to get it back by passing it to a touristic bus driver who fortunately went this day to Munich. If my father didn't get back his passport that day, he would have great problems because next day his visa was terminated.
We are endlessly thanful to the stuff of the hotel Mueller for this cooperation!

Situated at the base of the Neuschwanstein castle, this hotel is referred to as "Adult Disneyland" by our group. It is almost as if you are staying in the castle itself. We have been here on 4 separate occasions and always stayed in the 2 bedroom suite. Magical! The hotel & the staff are family run and owned. The pride shows. Attention to detail at every turn: fruit & drink await in the living area, beds and bath are of a larger 5-star caliber, service superb, and food is an Epicureans' dream. This is an enchanted place!!
