“Good location to see the castles”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

We stayed for 2 nights in June and had beautiful sunny days. We booked one of the castle view packages - which includes: a superior double room with a view of a castle, tickets for the castles and a horse and carriage ride.
Our room was a nice modern room, no air-conditioning (but a fan), the wifi didn't work in our room. We had a large balcony.
Unfortunately there was no castle view!!! If you glimpsed through the trees you could nearly see a castle.
The hotel organised our castle tickets at the times we requested.
Again...unfortunately our horse and carriage ride got cancelled a few minutes before we were due to depart. We were given a refund and told to catch the bus. Very disappointing.

I would also like tea and coffee facilities in our room.

This hotel is in the perfect location to visit the castles. It is about a 20 minute walk uphill to get to Neuschwanstein Castle, and about a 5 minute walk by stairs (10 minute walk uphill) to get to Hohenschwangau Castle. There are horse carriage stops for both castles within a couple hundred feet from the front door. The hotel will reserve your entrance times for the castles, which really simplifies everything. The breakfast was great, and you could view Neuschwanstein from the dining room. The rooms themselves were great. They were traditional Bavarian design with plenty of space. It is not air conditioned, but depending on the time of year is not an issue. It's restaurant is fast and convenient as well. I recommend this hotel very highly!

Not there are a lot of places to stay here while visiting the castle, but if you're expecting a clean room and friendly service, you've come to the right place. My room was small, but I didn't expect more. I'm not sure if there are larger rooms, but traveling solo, this worked out just fine.
The front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and choices of breakfast which was included in my stay.
I would highly recommend this hotel.

I loved this Hotel for the location plus the Restaurant had very delicious food. The desk staff was helpful, as well as the rest of the staff. They were happy to store our suit cases while we were out touring. Picked up and delivered our castle tour passes to us in hotel, we did not have to stand in line. The only thing I would suggest is bring your own shampoo an they do notprovide washcloths. Which has been standard through Europe.

great location. the town is all yours after the busloads of tourists leave around 430. we had a suite that had a great view of the castle from the living room, with a small balcony. very nice room, but a bit pricy. ditto the restaurant. The food was good, but very expensive. just down the street is a great place that was always packed, whereas the Muller restaurant was deserted.
A few at the front desk were a bit unfriendly, but for the most part it was a great choice.

This hotel is in the perfect location when visiting Neuschwanstein. The castle is a 30 minute walk, or you can go by horse drawn carriage which picks up outside the hotel door. The bus also picks up about 50-100 yards from the hotel. The staff was incredibly helpful, and friendly. The food in the restaurant, and bistro were both very good. The hotel was quiet, internet was fast, views of both castles were great. There is a small parking lot next to the hotel if you have a rental car. They also have a souvenir shop. Will recommend this hotel to everyone visiting this area. Helmet Regda at the front desk is fabulous. He will go out of his way to make everything perfect. He alone was worth the stay.

Room Tip: Pay for the castle view rooms.
