“LOVED this hotel”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

We had a junior suite that include two beds/king bed and a chair that could be pulled out to make a third bed. There was a balcony with the room that looked directly onto a yard and to the side was a view of Newschwanstein castle. The hotel is new and could not be more conveniently located (a 15 min. walk to one castle and a 30 min. walk to the other). Before we arrived, I had reserved tickets on line for the castles and the hotel staff went and picked them up and had them waiting for us when we arrived. We probably saved over an hour of time - avoiding the line to pick up the tickets at the ticket center- by doing this.
These are some of the reasons I loved our room.
1) Nicely decorated and very clean, large room.
2) We had a shower with a glass partition that prevented the bathroom floor from getting wet (one of my pet peeves).
3). wash cloths in the bathroom.
4) great wi-fi.
5) lots of electrical outlets conveniently located throughout the room.
6) coffee maker in the room.
7) umbrella in the room.
8) a really good breakfast with wonderful breads, lox, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cold meats and cheeses etc.
9) underground garage - that was spotless.
10) warm and friendly staff - especially Sindy.

I believe they have air conditioning too!

I only stayed one night in the Villa Ludwig, however even after one night it was clear that this is a top hotel with a breathtaking view of the "Neuschwanstein" castle.
It is relatively easy to find, as it is situated at the main road of "Hohenschwangau" and it has good parking facilities.
The welcome and check in was very friendly, uncomplicated and quick. If you have further questions regarding all the sights in the region the staff is more than happy to provide all the information you need. Furthermore they can assist with reservations of castle tours or restaurants. It is recommended to book the castle tour for Neuschwanstein in advance, especially during the summer season.
The hotel has not really a restaurant for lunch and dinner, but they can recommend and reserve several options in town.
My recommendation for the evening: Ask at the hotel reception to reserve a table at the restaurant "Alpenrose am See", also an excellent choice.
We stayed in the "Romantic Suite" which guarantees you a stunning view of the castle from the balcony, from the bed and even from the special bath tub. The suite is spacious with a large double bed (including special light effects, imitating stars over the bed), bathroom with shower, a toilet and a big bath tub underneath a window facing the castle (also equipped with special, romantic light effects).
During the day you might be sight seeing, but the hotel also offers a small spa area (sauna) and a high tea in the afternoon (unfortunately we did not have time to utilize it).
The breakfast was of a very good quality, with a food choice of cold cuts, cereals and nice coffee. I liked it.
The trip to the castle Neuschwanstein is a must while staying there. It is possible to reach it via 2 ways. Either by walking 10 minutes to the town center, from there a bus will take you on a ride up the mountain (you also have the option to walk the whole way, not sure how long it takes). Or via a hiking trial through a narrow valley (Klamm) - the hotel staff can provide a map for that. We have chosen to take the bus up and to walk down through the nice and natural valley, which is following a small stream. However make sure to have shoes suitable for that, it is a bit rocky and steep.
I can recommend this hotel especially for couples, it is very romantic and experiencing the view from the hotel will make your stay perfect!

Very nice and comfortable newish hotel. They have a nice relaxation area with steam room and sauna.

You could see the castle from the balcony of the room I had.

The staff was friendly and helpful even arranging tickets to the castle.

The location is good - just a few blocks from the village area and the path up the mountain to Neuschwanstein.

Underground parking also. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We stayed here for two nights in May so that we could have an entire day visiting the castles and relaxing. We had an easy walk to the castles so no worries with parking. The hotel has underground parking. It was off season so the town was slow but the hotel was amazing. New, clean, quiet. Everything a hotel should be. We were upgraded to a suite that had a balcony with an amazing view of the castle. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with the typical European staples but also eggs, bacon, etc cooked to order. This is the place to stay if you are spending a night in the area.

We stayed here on a driving trip to Bavaria and picked this place because it had a garage included.
We loved it: the people were friendly. They have a nice buffet breakfast included and an afternoon tea, also included. They have wine and beer tasting in the pm for a small fee.
The room was lovely and looked right at Neuschwanstein Castle. Like being in a postcard!
In addition to the castle, you can watch paragliders launching from a nearby site.
The staff got our tickets to the local castles for us. They also had interesting information about other attractions in the area.
The location was a bit out of the central Hahenschwangau district which we thought was an advantage as far less noisy and crowded.

Room Tip: the back rooms overlook Neuschwanstein.

Very modern, new hotel with every comfort. Our stay was delightful in every way. The staff from our arrival & check-in to assistance with local directions and reservations were extremely courteous and helpful. Our room was large and clean with a terrific view of the castle. Full breakfast was very good as well.

This hotel has it all - Great Comfort, Modern Rooms, Outstanding Service, Excellent Food, and Beautiful Views! They had a very nice tea time with a great cake in the afternoon, full breakfast including eggs, bacon, sausage, and fresh fruit. An underground garage with an elevator that takes you up to your room. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were very modern and clean. The staff was very helpful with local directions and recommendations. On my recent trip to Germany, Austria, and the UK this hotel really distinguished itself on all aspects, and praise the staff and management for operating a fine establishment and proving my family great stay!
