We were looking for a place to dine near our hotel. We saw La Ruota across the street and decided to give it a try. They were very accommodating to two tourists from the US. We were welcomed warmly. The food was good. We tried our German and it was appreciated. We would recommend it to others.

-- but that's just an indication of how busy they are, the restaurant is, because truly this is a very good place indeed, and THRONGED. Did they forget the second glasses of beer? Yes. Did they apologise lavishly and comp each of our party a glass of grappa? Yes. So we forgive them. And the prices, the pasta, the pizzas, the sauces, all are EXCELLENT. E6.80 for a meal-sized pizza? You won't do better. Viva la Ruota!

just happened to be across the road from our hotel imperial. Decided to give it a try and was very pleased indeed. from the bread served at the start to the coffee desert at the end the meal was wonderful. Good value and proper pizza cooked in a wood fired oven. delightful - worth travelling a bit father then we did....

There are many Italian restaurants in Munich, but this one stands out for the original atmosphere, food, and price. There is much to like, the food also has seasonal dishes (we recently had some pasta with pumpkin that was a killer..). The beers while standard are on tap. The only down side is it is a bit tight in the winter and the wood oven they use for the pizzas makes the place really warm, too warm for me.
Great service, friendly. The Streetcar Nr. 19 has a stop about a block away, if you miss it, the other stop is not far away.
