Spent three nights here as part of a group of eleven "mature" blokes. Check in was efficient and all dealings with reception over the weekend were very easy due to all staff speaking some english. Rooms were quite small but all that was needed for a good sleep. Large shower was great. Buffet breakfast was excellent value at €7.50 per person. Location made it easy to reach from the airport. The centre of Munich is within easy walking distance.

What a surprise! The location can't be beat -- within 10 min. walk from train station, just a short walk from Marienplatz. Staff was friendly and helpful. Loved it.

We rented 4 rooms for couples and singles. The rooms were exactly as shown on their website. Here are some tips which may not have been shared by others:
1. to avoid going up/down escalators and bumpy sidewalks with your suitcases, take a taxi from international airport - 30 euros or from train station. the hotel is less than 1/2 block from the sendlinger tor metro station. about 20 minutes slow walk to main train station ("HBF").
2. rooms near the courtyard tend to be noisy at night (open terrace - bar).
3. free WIFI in the lobby (which is also the lounge) if you bring your own laptop. otherwise, pay 7.50 euros for breakfast and you get free WIFI in your room - excellent connection.
4. hairdryer in room. no phone. no in-room safe. no iron or ironing board. bring own toiletries as recommended by other reviewers.
5. lots of restaurants within 5 - 10 minutes walk.
6. very firm bed (typical european style - no plush top). rooms are about 150 sq. ft.
7. about 10 minutes slow walk to the "new: town hall and the glockenspiel.

I found this hotel thorugh the Trip Advisor forums, as I was trying to avoid staying around the main train station (best avoided). The hotel is situated in a very central location in the city centre. Rooms and service were excellent. Yes, the rooms are small but we did not find this a problem.

The only thing missing was a safe for valuables.

We paid extra for the breakfast and room wifi and found this to be great value for money, with a fresh contintenal buffet breakfast daily.

We really enjoyed our stay and on a future trip to Germany we would look to stay at Motel One.

We stayed here for 3 nights. As far as value for money goes this motel/hotel is definitely up there with well priced establishments. However if it is space you are looking for you need to find another hotel. We could barely move in the room if our bags were open. Also there is no safe in which to keep your valuables and the reception did not have a facility to keep them in so we were left keeping them in our backpack and taking them along with us during the day which was not ideal!
Breakfast is VERY basic but you get what you pay for I suppose.
All in all not a terrible place but far from anything luxurious or too comfortable.
