“Good value for money in a central location”

Great location, professional service, just the rooms are a bit small but they have everything you need for one night plus they are quiet enough; design is not special but at least the entrance gives a warm welcome

Stayed here in January 2011. Two adults one child (11). Room was small and quite a tight squeeze as mentioned in other reviews. The room only prices are really good value and if you like a clean, efficient basic hotel to wash and sleep while on your city break or have business in Munich then I recommend this chain of hotels.

Some reviewers mentioned lack of toiletries but we found everything to our satisfaction. Bar staff were pleasant and efficient and myself and my son sat in the two blue chairs in the lobby/lounge in front of the fake log fire video playing on the flat screen TV.

We all enjoyed our drinks, looking out on the street at the falling snow and listening to the other guests chatting in German. There was a nice atmosphere in the lounge.

Reception was quite brusque and somewhat rude at check in but we overlooked that as we had a really great time in Munich and loved the Hofbrauhaus! My son loved the informative Hitler's Munich -Third Reich Tour which we took from the Marienplatz in the snow. I would chose to stay with this chain of hotels again in Munich, purely for the competitive room price. Especially for Oktoberfest.

This hotel is steps from the metro and the beautiful Sendiger Tor as the name suggests. It's on a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle, but conveniently located just a few minutes from the Rathaus and central Munich.

The hotel has all of the modern amenities and comforts anyone would need. Small, but practical. The bed was also a bit hard, but again, I'm comparing to the fluffy white cloud-like beds typical in Germany.

Breakfast was only okay. There were no hot choices except for boiled eggs. In a modern hotel chain as this one, I knew breakfast would be basic, especially when you compare to the amazing ones you'd find at a B&B or independent hotel in this country.

For the price, this hotel really can't be beat. I'll be staying here again when I return to Munich!

I have mixed feelings on the Motel One Sendlinger Tor. We stayed there for a few days following Christmas. The location is excellent, and for that alone it is worth considering a stay here. However, it was our first time at a Motel One, and while we expected it to be basic, we were not prepared for how basic that would be. In general, this chain is probably not for us, but would work for someone who is looking for something a little nicer than a hostel but still inexpensive, which is exactly what this seems to be.
Expect no frills whatsoever. The rooms are tiny. You barely have room to move around the bed, nevermind find a place to place your luggage. The bathroom was functional, but seemed to just barely be so.
The service at the hotel follows suit and is functional, but basic. Be prepared to wait at check-in and check-out (where the desk never seemed to be appropriately staffed for the number of guests coming and going).
Basically, this hotel reminded me of a Ryanair flight. It gets the job done for probably an unbeatable price. But if you value any creature comforts, look elsewhere or be prepared to pay extra at this hotel for those amenities.

If you want a nice & beautiful hotel experience - stay elsewhere.

This is a fusion of a hotel and a motel. Not sure if some of the reviewers can't read, that they complain about the small room and limited extras...

It is reduced to the limit. Simple bed, TV (even if it is a Loewe), shower and bath the same.
Breakfast was more than I expected, the service team is trying to clean the tables as fast as possible, but at roush hour they have no chance to clear the tables for the nexts guests. They are very attentative and polite.

Do not expect a luxurious 4 or 5 star hotel and you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: high floor

stayed here for 3 nights in order to visit munich markets. buzz was electric. my wife and daughter stayed in a double room, whilst i stayed in a single room 3 floors below. One quibble, the lift up button did not work above the ground floor!!. other than that I could not fault hotel. Nice design to room decor and layout. Staff very efficient and courteous. location brilliant!!!!

This hotel is still inside the old town area of Munich, one stop away from the Hauptbahnhof (main train station) with the underground. Although the rooms are small, there are very comfortable and with simple but very nice design. The lobby area is very nice and spacious with lots of sitting places and a bar area. The breakfast buffet is also very good and at 99 euros with breakfast included, this hotel is a great value! definitely recommend it, and will surely try other hotels from this affordable design-hotel chain.

Room Tip: try to select rooms on the higher floors and further away from the elevators so that they are quiete...
