Pros: once you are acclimated, the location is great. Convenient to U station-- take exit C and short walk to hotel. Convenient to English Gardens. Good breakfast --- loved the fried eggs and bacon --but some mornings the pastry selection was slim. Very nice front desk employees.
Cons: we were on the 4th floor in room 401. This room was on the backside which was nice as no street noise with open windows. BUT you could only get in the bed on one side as it was in an alcove and the end of the bed on the other side only had 6 to 8 inches of space between it and a wall structure and you had to duck not to hit your head. The other big con is no air conditioning. That was no problem the first 2 nights as day time temps in 60s. Then daytime temps went up to the 80s and when we went to bed at midnight it was rather toasty. Would not want to be there when summer temps are high.

Proof that a hotel does need to be a concrete tower or part of a chain, with windows that do not open. Staying here in Nikolaistrasse, just off Leopoldstrasse and a short walk from the Englischergarten, was a joy - like being in a private house but without the hosts and with excellent breakfast and friendly staff. And the sun poured in through the wide open windows.

This was our second trip to Munich in less than 2 months. We booked this hotel a matter of hours before arriving and I would definitely stay here again. Firstly it is a lovely, quiet, comfortable and friendly establishment. The rooms are well appointed and spotless. The breakfast is fantastic with a range of fresh and cooked to order food served in a bright relaxed environment. The staff spoke very good English and were polite helpful and extremely efficient. The hotel is very near to the English Garden and is situated in the neighbourhood or borough of Schwabing and very close to the centre of Munich. This is a great location as its just outside of the hustle and bustle of the centre and only a few tram stops or U bahn stations from there. Close by there are lots of cafés, restaurants, bars and shops and whilst we were there the 'street life' festival was running the length of Ludwigstrasse one of the longest roads in Munich and basically on the doorstep of the hotel. Noise was not an issue in fact we both had two great nights sleep! It would suit both business or leisure travellers, wifi access was great, a small bar area and a lounge for reading or conversation with others etc. We were neither business nor leisure visiting to see our daughter who had just had surgery in hospital but we were able to do some sightseeing and a lovely walk in the English Garden. We will probably be regular visitors to Munich and this would be a first choice hotel for us.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in early May. Everything about it was great. The location is perfect as it is about 2 blocks from the metro and right around the corner from restaurants and shopping. The metro stop is 2 stops from the attractions, so getting around is very easy.
The hotel is an old building which adds lots of charm. The room had plenty of space and was very clean. The beds were the most comfortable beds we slept on during our trip. One interesting thing was the big window in the shower. Anyone in the room can see right into the shower. No problem for us, but could be a problem for others.
Staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was wonderful. We would stay here again and recommend it to our friends.

Stayed two nights while in Munich- can definitely say that lots of attentions have been paid to details. Consider this is a private owned business you will really appreciate the personal touch. They compensate areas could be improved with the great service and friendliness.

If you tired of those huge hotels where you do not feel welcome, try this small hotel in Munich. Its location is 2 blocks away from Ubahn that takes you to Munich main attractions within 2 stops. Staff is helpful and nice. Apartments are small but very confortable and well decorated. Finally, breakfast is delitious
