“Amazing combination of ingredients”
Reviewed 27 November 2013

I was blown away by the creativity of the chef. The menu is "blind" menu. You choose the number of courses and the chef chooses the courses. My husband and I both selected the 5 course menu with a German Pinot noir. From beginning to end, we were pleasantly suprised. The menu has wild boar (tender and flavorful) and a varity of fish/shellfish and vegetables -- they will adjust to accommodate any allergies. Please make reservations and allow 2 1/2 to 3 hours for dinner at this delightful restaurant. We especially enjoyed our English speaking waiter.. He was perfect!! Oh, and I must comment on the beautiful and unique washbasins in the bathroom. They appear to be cut from a huge piece of stone -- agate??

My husband and I both agree that we will return to Tramin the next time we visit Munich. P.S. if you stay at the Hilton City - it is very close - a quick 3-4 block walk. :)

“Unique experience”
Reviewed 18 October 2013

We were five for dinner at this small restaurant and we had a great and unique experience. No menu ,just decide how many courses and what you do not want to eat. Great quality food and beautiful presentations.
They deserve a Michelin star. Very much recommended! We will go for sure next time in Munich.

“So good- might fly back to Munich just to eat there again”
Reviewed 15 September 2013

I had some misgivings after making the reservation that I had picked a small restaurant, a little off the tourist radar screen, that may not like to have foreigners who don't speak much German. But I could not have been more wrong. From the moment we got there to when we left we were treated so warmly by all the staff, especially our waitress. All the other tables filled with local thirtysomethings who were having a relaxed good time. The food is distinctively creative with very clever presentations. We had the wine pairing which I would recommend as the choices are some fine bottles that you might not otherwise experience. For an example, our first course was served on a closed petri dish filled with stones and moss to look like a riverbank but the stones made of goose liver mousse. Another course featuring mushrooms was arranged like you had found them all growing in ferns under a tree. The food itself, the flavors, were intense. Simple things, cucumber ice cream, peas, tasted better than any cucumber or pea I had ever had. Main courses were duck served 2 ways- the duck leg was slow roasted for 72 hours. All in all, an incredible evening. Said thank you and good bye to our wonderful waitress and the chefs in the kitchen. Would love to go back.

It was a complete surprise. They don't have a menu, it's like a discovery journey. They deserve a michelin star. Strongly recommended!
