“Good Bavarian food!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2013 via mobile

Once a year I attend a trade show in Munich and I also eat at the Palais Keller at least once during my week long stay. Staff are dressed in typical Bavarian costumes and are usually jovial prancing back and forth between tables armed with enormous jugs of beer. There are so many dishes on the menu, one is spoilt for choice. Personally, I'd avoid the dumplings. They are full of flavor yet they sit in your stomach like a rock because they are so hard to digest. Apart from that, eat to your hearts content. Prices are fair and it usually is a pleasant evening when dining at the restaurant.

“A great place, well worth finding”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 December 2012

This restaurant is well worth finding, in the basement of the hotel in an old salt cellar with bygone kitchen equipment.
Staff friendly, welcoming and informative.
Enjoyed a throughly good meal.
Range of breads and beers to enjoy. Local Baverian and seasonal sausage dishes great. The vegetarian selection was modest by comparison (several fish dishes too). However the stuffed kohl rabi we (including the meat-eaters) considered one of the best vegetarian dishes ever.
All within a short block of the main pedestrian thoroughfare.
Would agree with other reveiwers: faultless and good value.

“Wonderful, authentic, and great quality”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 November 2011

We had here our favorite meal in Munich. Palais Keller is located in the lower level of the Bayerischer Hoff Hotel, on Promenade Platz. This *is* the place to try Bavarian Weisswurst--the white veal sausages from Bavaria that are served boiled in a broth. In this restaurant, they were made to perfection, with incredibly aromatic herbs and a great consistency. They can be ordered by the piece (3 euros each). We ordered 5 with a side of perfectly prepared sauerkraut and a potato salad. Accompanied by beer, some of the wonderful house rye bread and pretzels, and a capuccino, this was the right amount of food for two at lunch time. The ambiance at Palais Keller is relaxed, unpretentious, and inviting, and the service is excellent, extremely professional, and friendly. Our waiter spoke little English, but he nonetheless made excellent suggestions and helped us order the right amount of food for a lovely Bavarian lunch. He was patient and consistently addressed us with a smile. This was a lovely experience all around.
