“A pleasant hotel -great for the Octoberfest”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 September 2013

The hotel is located a short walk from the main train station ( about 5-10minutes) and I would agree with other raters that the neigbourhood is not the best. The local appears to be muslim in the majority .However we walked through it several times and had absolutely no issues. If you are to attend the Octoberfest then this hotel is for you .The fest area is just around the corner.
Positives -The room was clean and tidy ,as was the toilet and shower. In fact I think the bathroom must have been recently renovated -excellent.
We asked for a room at the back of the hotel so street noise was not an issue.
The staff were friendly and very helpful so full marks there.
Breakfast is plentiful and varied.
wireless Internet access must be paid for but at €3.5 a night it is a bargain compared to some other hotels.
If you do need refreshment in your room ,there is no mini bar but a selection of water, juices and wine are available in the room .The prices were acceptable ( €2 for a bottle of water and €3.5 for the wine)
Getting to the centre of Munich is easy and will take about 10 minutes.
Negatives -not many but
The rooms could do with a room safe.
The bar did not have any white wine available when we were there so perhaps more attention needs to be taken in this area.
Finally there is no toaster in the morning .Perhaps a niggly thing but I love my toast in the mornings.I am sure many others are the same.
Overall good value

Room Tip: Rooms at back away from street will be more quite

After reading all the reviews, I was conflicted regarding the unsavory neighborhood. But we needed to catch a train to Prague at 5 am from the Hauptbahnhof, so decided to try the place, and do not regret our decision

We walked through the neighborhood to the train station several times, and had no issues at all. When we first landed, it was 10:30 in the night, we had our suitcases, the iPhone out trying to find our way- looked clearly lost, and had hapless tourists written all over us, but the whole place was well lit, and we had an uneventful walk to the hotel. We had to walk again at 4:30 AM, and the lady at the front desk said if I was walking alone, she wouldnt recommend it, but since my husband was with me - it was perfectly safe. And it was
Rooms were clean, airy. Breakfast was awesome. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The only gripe I had was there was no A/C. I didnt read the description - simply assumed there would be one, but thats my fault. We left the windows open, but that brings in a lot of noise from the neighborhood bars. After a particularly horrendous rendition of "buffalo Soldier" at 4:30 am, for which I couldnt decide if I was amused or exasperated, we shut the windows, and turns out the windows are quite soundproof and the room wasnt very stuffy. Worked out all in all. Would definitely stay here again. Good value for the money

We stayed at Andra for seven nights it is a very clean hotel, staff were friendly and very helpful, breakfast was very good, plenty of selection. The hotel is not far from the main station the area not the nicest but very convenient for public transport and also sightseeing around Munich. We would stay there again .

We are very satisfied with this hotel. it is just about 8 to 12 minutes walk to the Central Station depending how energetic you are. :-). The room is clean and the size is good. However, the towels can be changed everyday as in most hotels. However maybe they are very environmentally conscious, so they don't change the towels everyday. we just stayed there for 2nights so it is not an issue.

I am very impressed by the accommodating staff especially Dennis who let us check in at 8:30 am in the morning since we took an overnight train from Amsterdam to Munich. He also let us have the wonderful breakfast which we were not supposed to have because check in time should be a few hours later.
My only complaint is: we have to pay for the Internet access ( 3.50 euro per day per person). With the price of 99 euro per night in a basic hotel, I would have expected free access to the Internet.

Room Tip: Choose the room not facing the street which is very noisy when the windows are open at night and ear...

Location - located some 10-15min from the main train station. However, it is still within walking distance to several attractions in the city. However, food is somewhat limited with only some middle eastern food around the hotel. A nice supermarket is located just next to the hotel. Strangely, the hotel is very quiet although it is just at the main road. Maybe we just happened to get the right room facing.

Now the breakfast is very very good. We looked pretty much toward to breakfast every morning.

The owner, Tobias and his staff Dennis are all very warm, patient and helpful.

I'll definitely stay in Hotel Andra if given another chance.
Highly recommended.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 May 2013

We travelled to Munich with our two children, 3 and 15 months, and booked this hotel due to location, price, and availability of "family" rooms. We were not disappointed. The room was quite spacious and the hotel staff provided a baby bed (Pack n Play style) for our youngest. The breakfast had a lot of variety and was delicious. We were well situated, far enough out of the heart of things for a quiet night but close enough that we only had a 20-minute walk with stroller to the center city.

Some reviews have mentioned the supermarket downstairs. It's true that there was a slight odor in the bathroom but not unpleasant or unmanageable. We actually liked having the supermarket downstairs as we were able to purchase fruit and snacks for the kids. It appeared to be family run and they even helped me with our luggage while my husband fetched the car. The neighborhood isn't a tourist area but doesn't seem unsafe, just off the beaten path a little. The only thing I wish had been mentioned was that the bathroom only had a shower, no bathtub, which was a bit of a challenge for our youngest.

Overall, a great experience, friendly staff, spacious room, good breakfast, well-situated. We'd visit again.

The room was nice and big and the bed comfortable. The hotel is basic but a good deal for a relatively inexpensive 3 star hotel. I did not have the breakfast even though I had read that it is excellent. I did not want to pay an extra € 9 per person.
