Great hotel just yards from Marienplatz on a quiet side street. Only 100M from the famous Hofbrauhaus too which is akin to a pilgrimage site for thirsty tourists. Staff were excellent, friendly and unassuming giving great tips for local eateries and places of interest. Rooms quirky and stylish without being pretentious and particularly quiet if on inner courtyard side. breakfast buffet more than adequate to give a healthy start to a days sight seeing in this wonderful city.

I spend 4 nights with my wife and my 6 years old daughter. The best of this hotel, for me, is its location - you'll be inside Marianplatz, Viktualienmarkt, sendlinger StraBe, Kaufinger StraBe, Residenz, what it is great. Beyond that, you can easily get to the subway - 3 minutes walking at Marienplatz and reach any other place in Munich. The breakfast is not included, but it's very good with a great staff and at a reasonable price. The room is very comfortable, with a lot of falicities inside, like microwave, stove, a huge number of cable channels. Indeed, as you can access your room through a separate building, by using your card, it's more like an "Apart Hotel". A bit pricey but a good option in Munich.

stayed for 4 nights with my wife and two friends. The Hotel is in an excellent location for some of the main city centre points of interest such as The Rathaus in Marianplatz, The open air Food market, Hofbruhaus etc. We were on the third floor of the original building looking out of the front of the hotel. The room itself was a good size with plenty of room around the bed and simple but nicely decorated. Unfortunately, there was not a great deal of space for hanging clothes or any drawers which meant nearly everything was left in suitcases and had to be ironed each day/night (if you were staying one or two days this may not be so much of a problem). Our friends were staying in the newer block next door which has a separate access. There room was approximately the same size as ours apart from higher ceilings and double he amount of hanging/drawer space so if you are staying longer it could be worth asking for a room there. The biggest negative about room however was noise. The room is completely sound proof to be fair with the windows shut but unfortunately the air conditioning could not seem to get down to low temperature (it was 30+ degrees outside) and as a result we had to leve the windows open at night. Up until about 4 pm you get lots of people talking outside of the ' Gentlemans Club' opposite. its not shouting but the sounds seems to be somehow amplified in the narrow street. after a couple of hours of relative quiet from 7 am you then get the daily bin collection followed by the heavy construction noises from the building at the bottom of the street and the development of the Tal which is right behind the hotel. again our friends room had newer aircon which worked perfectly and therefore no need for windows open so didn't hear any noise at all. On a very positive note the public areas of the hotel were excellent including the rear courtyard where you can take breakfast. If you are really hungry then the breakfast will suit as it is fixed price ( circa €20) with lots of choice and great quality. if you want a smaller breakfast where you just pay for what you have you can use their sister bar across the street (bar centrale). The best thing of all about this hotel is the staff. The service was excellent eveywhere and nothing is too much trouble. We drank at the bar most evenings and the quality of drinks is excellent. they really are good at cocktails. Also try the local munich gin 'The Duke'. totally recommend this hotel and will return (probably the new block if in the summer).

Dear guest,

We are delighted to read about your good experience at the Cortiina Hotel and we very much appreciate the feedback you are providing to us as well as to fellow travelers.

In this area many “places-to-be” a settled like restaurants and bars, so unfortunately it happens to be very crowed on the weekend and disturbance cannot be avoided at all times. We already made a note in your profile that you prefer a quiet room to the courtyard.

Thank you very much for your kind words, it will be shared with our team and we are looking forward to welcoming you back soon.

Please do not hesitate to contact me directly if I can be of any assistance.

Kind regards,

Kristina Eder

Cortina was a great find. Not only did we really enjoy the spacious, well appointed room in the annex, but the staff was simply wonderful. They really couldn't do enough for us. Having never been to Munich before this was a great introduction to the city. One could walk to everything (despite the constant rain). We also enjoyed the bar in the Hotel. Never made it to the restaurant there but we have no doubt it was good!

The Coriina is a nice modern hotel located right in the heart of Munich. You literally can't get much closer to Marient Platz and Viktualienmarkt (3-5 minutes walk). The Residenz and the entrance to The English Garden are also within convenient walking distance. If you're taking the train, the S-Bahn goes right to Marien Square leaving you a short distance from the hotel.

The room itself was nice and spacious, and included free wifi (some places don't which just seems crazy). This place is a bit on the pricey side, but I did feel like you got what you paid for with the location and overall quality of the hotel.
