I stayed at a single room at Cortiina for the night, and overall it was a great experience. Though the room was small, it managed to pack everything into a compact but lovely setting. The closet and toilet were tucked into separate niches in the wall, and everything was very clean. The shower was tiny but clean, and everything felt modern and classy.

The hotel is indeed very close to Marienplatz, the touristic center of the city—just a short walk away. Even better, the hotel is perhaps 10 steps down the street from the Hofbräuhaus, Munich's liveliest beer hall! Everything is centrally located, and all the sights you might want to see—Marienplatz, Odeonsplatz, Viktualienmarkt, Residenz, Theatinerkirche, Frauenkirche, Fünf Höfe, Englischer Garten, Alte Peter—are all reachable by foot in 10 minutes or much, much less.

The only complaint I have is how slow the elevator was, but that's easily amended by taking the stairs down. The hotel is only some four or five stories tall, so it's not much of a complaint at all. Cortiina is basically a more minimalistic and quirky version of its sister hotel, Louis Hotel, just a few streets over near to Viktualienmarkt. Overall, 4/5 would recommend to others.

The hotel is very nice, although old (can be felt in the elevator), the interior is renovated and has a modern feel to it (again, except for the elevator which takes 10 minutes to get in a 4-floor hotel...). The location is great, central area close to public transport hubs, pubs, restaurants, although could be a bit noisy at night.

The only drawbacks were the internet was a bit slow (although complimentary which is nice), and that the desk was not very comfortable to work on for long hours. For a business stay the latter may be problematic.

I'd stay there again as long as I don't plan to work long hours in the room.
