There are unique opportunities in every city in the world. This is definitely a unique opportunity in Munich. We had our hotel make a reservation for early dinner but something happened and we arrived early without one. It was the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday but the staff seated us okay. The head server was a bit intense but I think only because we were there at the end of lunch. They close between 3:30 and 6:00 to prepare for dinner. A nice young man was assigned to be our server and he gave us menus in English. The views were great. The day was overcast but not too thick. The restaurant rotates a complete circle in an hour. We ordered a variety of items to share and although they were not inexpensive, they were not terribly priced. The sun broke through just in time for great sunset shots. I think the best time to go is to see the sunset. After the sunset it became dark quickly and although that adds to the romance, the views will be city lights and perhaps not as good.
This is a unique experience. If you like sky restaurants, this is for you. You could do just the observation tower and there is a rock and roll museum at the observation level.
