Spring beer fest no problem getting into tents. There were only 3 tents but still fun and rides and chickens and beers. Smaller octoberfest still had a good time.

“Oktoberfest at it's best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2014

OMG! We were here for Oktoberfest and it was soooo much fun! Nearly everyone is dressed in traditional outfits, the crowd is absolutely enormous, yet everyone is so friendly - and with the amount of beer being consumed no one was unruly. The beer tents are packed and if you wish to sit inside them after 5pm you need to reserve a table in advance, however you can sit at a table outside in the beer gardens by each tent. You must be sitting at a table in order to be served a beer (super sized mugs). Lots of food vendors serving whole chickens, fish on a stick, brats, huge pretzels, etc. Much to do for kids as well - many carnival rides. We actually had a few beverages at a carousel bar that spun around slowly the entire time. Music everywhere and much loud singing by the crowds. Super fantastic fun. You can take the underground train to and from the park so you don't have to drink and drive. Definitely a must. Remember that Oktoberfest is only 2 weeks long starting the last week in September and ending the first week of October. If you can't travel during this time the Hofbrau House has a similar experience nightly all year long.

“Oktoberfest….definitely a must in Bucket List!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2014

One of life's must-dos. I recommend that you hire a traditional Bavarian dress and get into the mood. It is such a great mix of friendly local & international visitors. There is something for everyone. When we entered we saw on our right, the circus-themed Hippodrome, and were dazzled. Most of our time was spent in the Haufbrau tent. We went in the Schottenhamel, the Lowenbrau tent and the Augustiner tent too.
All happily drinking, eating and dancing, the house band was playing festive Bavarian songs. All you could do was watch and smile and join the gang. Each tent had 10000++ people. We found a place to sit and ordered our huge mug of beer. I a non-beer drinker also had a full 1litre of beer. It does take a while to consume a liter of beer but you really do not want to hurry the experience of being there. A good majority of the people in the grounds were wearing traditional Bavarian costumes.
Food is a problem if you are a vegetarian like us, so carry your snacks, sandwitches & munchies like we did.
It starts at 11 am and you better come early if you want to get a table because lots of people already have reservations so there isn't much spare room left. In the afternoon it gets so busy that they pretty much shut the doors to all tents.
There are 14 large tents, carousels, roller coasters. It is all joyous and festive. There are several kiosks selling all manner of Wiesn souvenirs.
If a non-beer drinker like me could have a blast, I am sure it is a Mecca for beer drinkers.

“Prosit Der Gemütlichkeit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 May 2014

As a big beer lover, this had for many years been a great desire to visit.
We stayed in Munich for 4 nights and visited the festival every day if I remember correctly.
Tried many tents at opening time around 10:00 in the morning. A few hours later there were hardly any tables or seats left. Met many new friends.
Prices were OK about 10 euros for one Maß. The food seemed to be pretty boring but went down after a few beers.

Wish we come here again.

“Unforgettable Sight”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2014

The bronze statue of Theresa holding a wreath high is larger than it first appears, as one can actually enter the statue and climb up into the inside of Theresa's head and look out of two small windows onto the huge festival site where Octoberfest and other events take place!
