“Excellent collection, nicely sized museum”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

The collection of 18th and 19th century paintings and sculptures is excellent. All the important painters are there, good and spacious display. Not a museum in which you will get lost, but nicely tailored for a Sunday (fee € 1,--) morning or a nice afternoon. A serious tour will cost you about one hour and a half till two hours.

“Excellent Museum”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

A small museum that can be enjoyed without becoming tired out. You aren't told that the recorded tour guide is free. A must, as the narratives are very informative.

“A Beautiful Museum with a Worthwhile Collection to See!”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

The museum is filled with 18th to the present century art. There is an impressionist section with some examples by Monet, Manet, Van Gogh, etc. There is also a painting by Munch. I don't think the examples by these artists are necessarily the best. However, the Sunflowers by Van Gogh were great and a Gauguin was terrific. I highly recommend the audio guide.

“Just okay I guess”
Reviewed 30 June 2014 via mobile

The first few rooms were exciting because they had some Monets and other things like that that you know. After that it was mostly late 1700s early 1800s you know German painters and things and it got kind of boring the other Pinakoteks are much more interesting. Go on Sundays it only cost one euro.

“Compact museum. Heavy on early 1800s.”
Reviewed 27 June 2014

I was hoping for more late 1800s. Impressionists, sadly, only had two rooms at the end. But at least there was a Sunflowers to cheer me up. I would go again, just for that!
