“Nice stay in Munchen”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 January 2014 via mobile

We stayed for 3 nights over New Year's Eve.Really nice hotel, well and modern decorated, but rooms are a little bit small,no mini bar or coffee/tea.Good breakfast, but served in lobby area with small tables, which is really crowded in the morning and sometimes hard to find a free place to sit.Friendly and helpful stuff. Near city center reached by walk.

This was the first time I stayed at a motel one location. I have seen them all over Germany in the cities, but I never took time to try them out. As I did not have the energy this time to find a good price-quality hotel in Munich, I just went with the Motel one version. It is very cheap compared to the rest and a great excuse to try them out.
The concept is easy: all the normal things you need from a hotel, but nothing extra. The building was modern and up to date. In theory the check-in could have been 1 minute, except for the fact that we had a small problem. Everything looks designed very well (modern) but with the motel one touch: the turquoise everywhere. The rooms are small; but still bigger than for example Amsterdam. 2people bed, just enough space for a mini desk and a chair next to the bed. 1 international suitcase would fit on opened on the floor. The bed was a bit hard, but fine. If you are with 2 people, make sure to ask whether your room is made up for two people, in our case there was a 1.5-person comforter on the bed and just 1 big towel. In both cases you notice when it is too late. And for the American travelers under us: don’t get shocked, on the 4th floor you can open the window completely!
There is some wifi in the hotel (without login); it supports mail and your internet-sms-client. Facebook, maps and surfing is not supported. I think you can login in some way (paid /unpaid) but I did not bother.
In the morning there is breakfast for 7,50 (buffet style incl the coffee). Again: everything you need, but just that. Some breadies, croissants, some sandwich meats, cheese, jams (jelly’s), fruit salad and cereal . Juices & all the coffee you want. I think that is a pretty good deal for 7,50. It will be very crouded: sitting with 4 in the weekend will need some luck.
Checking out was a matter of handing over the room-keys.

If you come by car: in front of the street you can park for 6 eur / 24h. Paying in the meter outside by coins or german-chip-bank card. They also have a downstairs parking: 12 eur / day. If you drive a big car it will be a bit tight going down.

In the same area you also have the Holiday Inn and a Novotel. But in general: for a short stay where you actually don’t want to stay in the hotel the whole day, the Motel one if perfect.

Stayed there for two nights in September. Location is excellent, in walking distance to Marienplatz and lots of Cafes to have breakfast, dinner or a coffee. Clean rooms, comfy beds, friendly staff. Would stay again.

Stayed at this hotel during the last week of November this year whilst we discovered the delights of the City of Munich and it's Christmas Markets and the surrounding areas (including a day trip to Salzburg). The Motel One group have certainly thought of everything and everything is well thought out and runs like clockwork. The service and quality of food is much better than anything I have experienced at a similar level of hotel in the UK and they couldn't have been more helpful during our stay. As with all Euro countries it is expensive to buy anything and we initially thought 7.5 Euros for a breakfast was a little high. However after looking at what could be purchased for cheaper outside of the hotel along with the choice and amount and quality of food at the Motel One, it was worth paying that bit extra.

They have managed with their decoration and soft furnishings to create a very homely atmosphere whether you are staying for business or leisure.

For evening meals we ventured up to Rosenheimer Platz to Bella Italia where the food was wholesome, plentiful and reasonably priced. A very good find indeed.

We loved Munich, it is very picturesque and we found everyone to be friendly and helpful. The Motel One is a 15 minute walk to the centre of the city, a very pleasant walk to do.

Will certainly return and stay here again. I look forward to when their London Motel one opens next year.

This hotel is well located and really modern and newly fitted out. The room had a great bathroom but the bedroom was very small and the bed was the hardest which we'd experienced in Germany. Breakfast was reasonably good but spoilt by the crowded sitting area. The price was good value for city centre.

We stayed in Motel One during our stay over the weekend and enjoyed our experience. If you don't need fancy extras but just good place to sleep it is the best choice. Hotel is very nice - rooms are small but clean, staff is super helpful.
Location is also great - it is close to the city center (20 min walk or 2 stops on S Bahn). The S Bahn also takes you directly to the airport in just 40 minute which is very convenient and fast.
Would definitely stay here again.
