This modern hotel lacks soul and character. Yes, everything is new and modern but feels cold. No free Wi-Fi provided, which is lacking and unbecoming of a hotel this size. Beds are comfortable. Hotel is situated right above small shopping centre and underground station which is an added bonus.

Generally Hilton Hotels are a little pricey but most always of a very good standard. At The Hilton Munich City, the room rates are competitive and offers all you need for a pleasant stay in this lovely Bavarian City. To start with if arriving by air at Munich Airport take the 'S8' train downtown to the 'Rosenheimer Platz' stop. The Hilton is accessed directly by lift into the hotel lobby, all for 10 euro's and it takes but 35minutes This is a great plus when the taxi rate is 60 euro's and takes the same time or longer depending on the time of day.
Reception staff are good and very helpful, as is the concierge who can provide you with all the local knowledge for your stay in Munich.
The rooms are spacious and very clean, the beds are comfortable and the bathroom is excellent.
Room service is prompt and the hotel restaurant food acceptable but as with most hotel food not quite as good as the local restaurants closeby however the breakfast buffet is extensive and very good with a wide choice that will enable you to start your day well satisfied.

Room Tip: My room was on the 3rd Floor front with a little traffic noise, however if this was the noisiest roo...

We had the opportunity to stay in Hilton Munich City recently. The hotel is conveniently location atop the S-bahn station of Rosenheimer Platz. It is a nice little hotel and within walking distance (approx. 10 minutes) to Deutsches Museum and 25 minutes to Marienplatz. Using the S-bahn, we were able to go to all the places that we wanted to visit without any issues. The hotel concierge sells the 1-day family pass ticket for EUR 10.20

The rooms were pretty standard with ample space and contemporary design. The bathrooms came with a bathtub and shower head. Beds were comfortable and there were several pillow options to choose from. We had requested for a room facing the internal courtyard to be away from the noises from the street outside; and it was a good choice.

It has an in-house restaurant and a lounge bar at the ground floor. Breakfast was served in the restaurant and offered a good spread of cold and hot dishes. The restaurant also operates lunch and dinner service but we did not manage to dine there since there were several other restaurants/cafes within the vicinity of the hotel.

Even though the hotel is not as grand as the other hotels (especially the lobby area as some of the reviewers have pointed out), it provides a warm feeling. The staffs were helpful and accommodative; coupled with the fact that it is conveniently located in a decent neighborhood, made our stay very relaxing and enjoyable. We would definitely return again the next time we are in München.

Room Tip: Request for rooms facing the internal courtyard

We stayed here during Oktoberfest in 2011. The service and rooms were very good as you would expect from the Hilton brand. The location is close to the train station and we were able to get where we needed without a car.

Munich is a great city and I found Oktoberfest to be well worth going to. There's really something for everyone. We had one stay in late Sept and then came back in early Oct after some other travels.

The only negative during our stay was that the front desk had given some lady a whole bunch of passcodes for the Exec Lounge computer. There is supposed to be a 10 or 15 minute limit and she tied it up for over 45 minutes...very frustrating when you have limited time and just want to send a quick message home that you are alive and well. (I didn't have cell service in Europe) She wasn't even staying on the Exec floor.

Something that set this Hilton apart from others is the Excecutive Lounge. The food and drink options were far beyond what I have found in the Exec Lounges here in the states. Some other travelers mentioned that the Exec Lounges in Europe tend to be superior. Hopefully, I'll have a chance to check more of them out!

The location of the hotel is quite good if you are planing to use public transport. It is really easy to get from/to airport. The hotel has it's own entrance to subway station.
Price as for Munich is also quite ok. The rooms are equipped with kettle (at least mine was) and there is coffee & tee available for free. If you want to save few EUR on breakfast you can buy some food in the grocery shop few meters from the hotel :P

We got a really good deal booking on the hotel's website. We stayed for 4 nights with our 4 year old who also had a bed of his own. Good location, clean and comfortable room. The AC in the room was good unlike other hotels in Europe. Excellent breakfast with a good spread. Concierge was very knowledgable and staff were friendly.

Room Tip: Check the hotel's website. Sometimes you get better deals than other general booking websites.

Concierge was exceptionally helpful every time we stopped by with a question. Concierge can also sell public transportation tickets, so you don't have to figure out how to use the machines at the station on your own, or stand in line to buy tickets at the train station. Hotel is right above the subway station. As it rained every day we were in Munich, this was a nice bonus and made it easier to get around despite the rain. You can walk underground to local grocery stores and shops at the subway station. If weather is nice, the hotel is very close to Deutsches Museum and Isator. From there, not much further to Viktualienmarkt, Marienplatz and Hofbrauhaus.

Dear mrg40,

I am happy to read that you had a really good time in Munich although there was a lot of rain.
As I can see you explored the whole city with its great sightseeing places like the Hofbräuhaus, Viktualienmarkt and the Marienplatz.
The comment regarding our concierge-service makes us particularly proud. Our main task is to make sure that our guests feel comfortable and get the services they need.
Dear mrg40, thank you very much for this detailed feedback and I am looking forward to welcome you back in our great city.

With kind regards
