“Wow! Nicest Marriott I've seen, Newly renovated great location!”
Reviewed 11 June 2011

Wow, we spent 2 weeks in Europe (1 week travelling in hotels) and stayed in 6 different Marriott hotels (Courtyards, Marriotts, Renaissances) and this was by far the nicest. When they say newly renovated on the website they mean it. Granite, marble, etched glass, stainless steel everywhere in the rooms and on property!

Greeted by a great door man, turned out to be from Chicago and has family in the VI, who helped us find free street parking (very upperclass, safe neighborhood - parked next to a Ferrari and the customary BMWs / Mercedes) and after entering the revolving doors we were presented with fruit, pretzels and coffee.

Our room was on one of the highest floors, and we were pleasantly suprised with a stocked, inclusive mini-bar, ranging from local beers to wine, soda and juice! The bathroom came with your not-so-usual amenities, including exfoliating gloves - a nice touch.
The furniture was all brand new and the TV was by far the biggest flat screen that we had seen yet in a Marriott hotel - including satellite channels in about 7 different languages!
As it was stormy and dark by the time we got into Munich, we had an early night and snuggled into our amazing bed - one of the best nights of sleep yet!

The buffet breakfast the next morning was well worth it - staff were overwhelming attentive and friendly and the buffet itself had everything ranging from smoked salmon, an assortment of bread and rolls, fruit salads, smoked meats, chef-attended station cooking up omelettes, fresh belgian-style waffles and eggs benedict, cereals, cheeses and espresso machine.

For those taking public transport, its only one block away from the u-bahn (subway). I highly recommend choosing this hotel over the Renaissance Marriott, which is 2 blocks away and really old and ghetto looking (and most likely much more expensive!)

A 10 minute walk from Englischer Garten, then just a leisurely 45 or so minute stroll through that big slice of tranquility past the ponds, and birds and Chinese pagoda...right into the middle of town at Odeonsplatz. Then as mentioned above it's less than a 10 minute ride on the u-bahn back to the hotel.

Definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

Spent 3 nights here at the beginning of European vacation with my wife and college-age daughter. Very spacious and comfortable rooms by European standards and very close to U-bahn (Munich subway) station. Also, a short jog to the beautiful Englischer Garten and its miles of paths and trails.

Breakfast was outstanding--one of the best buffets we have ever had. However, if you want to enjoy the buffet, probably best to book a room with breakfast included, as the 26 euro price is very expensive ala carte.

Service was also very good and employees were very pleasant. Health club small but very nice with a pool, spa, etc.

We used to live in Munich and are very familiar with the city and hotels, and this was a very nice surprise....booked this place to get a nice room for 3 adults at a good price (not always easy in Europe) and we were very pleasantly surprised. Definitely would choose this hotel again!

Stayed here for three nights and can thoroughly recommend it. Very handy for the train station (5 mins), shops, bars and restaurants. Food is excellent and the actual courtyard accessed from the bar area is small and modern. Very clean and the staff are extremely helpful. Tremendous breakfast consisting of hot and cold buffet. My advice to any other seasoned traveller - don't hesitate to book.

This was one of the largest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in while traveling in Europe. Each day, the staffed stocked the complimentary mini bar, including alcoholic beverages, snacks, soft drinks, and bottles of water, which is unheard of. It is very close to a tube station, so everything is a short ride away. We stayed during Oktoberfest and had a great time.

we stayed here during the last leg of our trip and it had a clean and very trendy interior.very sad though that it had no free wi fi even at the lobby. the breakfast was very good however you should not leave your belongings unattended. my friend found out the hard way... she left her purple hermes bag on the floor thinking that the hotel's security was good.. two other friends who were seated in an adjacent table were distracted by a man who dropped four us dollar bills... and a waiter bent down to pour water on their glass...when my friend came bag her bag was gone. we reported it to the management and we found out that they didnt have security cameras inside the restaurant .they only had it at the door of the restaurant . it was indeed so disappointing that a trusted hotel chain will not have these security cameras/

We traveled to Munich and chose to stay on a chain we could rely on and for that Marriott is normaly a good choice for us. The rooms were comfortable and the bathroom was an ok size. I was disapointed with the price of the breakfast! In our whole trip to Europe that was the most expensive we got! We've stayed many times at Marriott and normaly breakfast would be included in the rate, but no this time...
The hotel is out of the city centre and nothing to do or see around it. A short walk to the metro though.
Since we stayed only for one night I guess it wasn't that bad, but I wouldn't want to stay there for a longer period of time.

Based five minute walk to the U-bahn (and just a few tube stops to the city center), it's a lovely hotel, with modern and clean rooms. The only problem is that, even if the hotel is in a very peaceful area, it's not so far from the Mittlerer Ring. This means that in some rooms you can hear some noise, early in the morning. However, the Spa and the swimming pool are free. The staff is very helpfull. And the pub of the hotel is opened until 1 a.m. For breakfast, you can also opt for the Muller, along the way toward the underground.
