We usually find Holiday Inns to have a reliable quality of level for the price, but this one let us down. It seems they are renovating and trying to improve, but the room was quite basic and rather noisy (lots of children rampaging in the hallways). The parking and breakfast situations--extra charge for each--are unfortunate. The wifi did not work, even though a staff member actually came to our room and tried to make it work.

We were able to sleep and get clean, but that was pretty much it.

Thank you for your candid review. We apologize that your recent stay did not meet expectations. We appreciate your comments and will share these with our team so that we can continue to improve our services.
The house is undergoing renovations and all our rooms will be updated during the year. Also, a renovation of the public areas is planned. In the course of the renovation work, we will also expand our WLAN.
We offer our rich breakfast for the price of 18 € per person. This includes coffee, tea, chocolate (hot or cold), several juices, cornflakes, muslis, several yoghurts, fresh fruits, cold meats, several cheese, butter/margarine, boiled eggs, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, potatoes, bavarian sausages, bacon, marmalade, honey, rolls/bread, croissants, sparkling wine, water, newspaper.
We do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future, so that we can provide a better experience.

I am from Europe. I traveled to countries in Europe, US and Asia. I choose this hotel because I use this hotel chain in the U.S. and it advertised german version air condition.

Pro:
Quiet area in Munich
Easy to reach via public transportation.
Different restaurants within 15 min walking area
Room was decent size with bathtub shower combination.
Room had a small balcony
Non smoking room and was clean.
Working steam room
Was able to bring breakfast on a tray, to the room.

Con:
Upon arrival: Had a room with no working ac. I reported it and requested a fan. We do not have fans the front desk said. A technician came up and stated the ac was broke and that the front desk knows the areas where there is no ac. I was told I could move, but was too exhausted.

I informed the front desk again at 7am next morning and was told it would be looked at by maintenance. I left the room and came back 6 hours later. AC still not working or fixed. I was offered a room change and moved.

No manager onsite, a supervisor was present, not the manager!

Customer service not the greatest.

No refrigerator in room with no complimentary drinks in room.

The swimming pool is small (Maybe 25 feet long and 4 feet deep). You can swim or walk across to the other end.

Sauna was broke. Unable to use. (Some former guests brought alcohol in it and it started a fire I was told).

The internet is slow and spotty all the time. Reported to front desk a few times with no chance or assistance from them.

The restaurant in hotel is expensive, but has good service and food.

Paying 20 Euro per person for breakfast is too much (It was buffet style, but too expensive)

Service attendant knocked and entered my room after I told him to wait a minute while I was getting dressed.

Another service attendant (Room cleaning) knocked to ask me a question, even though the sign “Do not disturb” was on the door handle. I answered his question, closed the door and he knocked again to ask me some more questions.

No manager or the owner bothered to contact me to talk about any of these issues!

No refund was offered.

Bottom line is I expected way more service and less stress for an American style hotel.

Thank you for your detailed feedback of the Holiday Inn Munich South.
We appreciate your comments and take them very seriously.
The hotel is located in the district Obersendling. From the hotel, the nearest subway station can be reached in about 5 minutes by foot. The subway takes you to the city center in about 15 minutes.
In the surroundings of the hotel there is a few restaurant. Our team is happy to assist you with restaurant recommendations or directions.
We offer rooms of various sizes and amenities. All our rooms have a balcony or terrace.
All our rooms are non smoking rooms. You are welcome to ask at the reception for an ashtray and on our terrace.
Of course, we offer our guests room service and bring breakfast, dinner or a small snack in between to your room. Please order breakfast in the evening to ensure that it is in your room at the desired time.
We are very sorry that the air conditioning in your room was broken. Renovations are currently taking place in the house and once these have been completed, all problems with the air conditioning system should be resolved. When booking, please give us your request for air conditioning and we will do our best to fulfill it.
Unfortunately we were unable to repair the air conditioning in your room. That's why the local colleagues offered you another room.
Our department heads and our entire team are very well trained and we have the utmost confidence in our employees.
We are very sorry that you were not satisfied with our customer service. We have done our best to solve the problem with the air conditioning on site.
We offer our guests a small indoor pool. This is open from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm and has a length of 8 meters and a width of 2.25 meters. The depth of the pool is from 0.95 meters to 1.25 meters.
Unfortunately, our sauna is currently out of order. This is for your safety and in the course of the already mentioned renovations we will also repair the sauna.
As soon as the public areas are renovated, our free WLAN will be expanded in the house. Unfortunately, we currently have no way to stabilize the connection.
We offer our rich breakfast for the price of 18 € per person. This includes coffee, tea, chocolate (hot or cold), several juices, cornflakes, muslis, several yoghurts, fresh fruits, cold meats, several cheese, butter/margarine, boiled eggs, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, potatoes, bavarian sausages, bacon, marmalade, honey, rolls/bread, croissants, sparkling wine, water, newspaper.

We have stayed here often. Usually work related but now we stayed due to start of our holiday. Rooms have been improved but breakfast has gone down. How can you charge 18€ for what you serve? The variety has gone down. No more fish and sweet pastry. Service at the reception is not in adequate level. You lady from Spain did not speak english. None of the customers checking out understood her english. Luckily we spoke german. Sad to see that things have actually gone down while rooms have improved

Its a family hotel,nearby city and very convenient in all restaurants. Only is theres no free parking. Over all good hotel and value for money. My kids enjoyed the pool although very small but its okay

We offers our guest parking spaces in our underground car park. These cost 13€ per Car and night. In frint of the hotel there are a few public parking spaces.

Lovely hotel. Stayed in this hotel for two nights. The room was lovely and clean. Great choice of food at breakfast which was lovely. The staff were so helpful, especially the staff who served our evening meal, they explained which foods my mum and myself could have due to allergies. The dinners were a good size and really lovely. The hotel is in a good location, only round the corner from the tube station. Would stay again
