There are some things you might not like about this hotel: The elevator stops between floors so you still have to walk down some stairs; it's about a 25 minute walk from the train station; and the breakfast-frau will insist on discussing your breakfast options in German. But these are minor irritants that should not take away from a excellent hotel experience. Once you get the tram system figured out, the hotel is really not that far off the beaten track. In fact, you might come to appreciate its location. I did. Yes, the breakfast-frau insisted (as is her right) on speaking German so I remain uncertain to this day as to what exactly my egg options were but after a few German words directed back at her, she lightened up and was friendly enough. The front desk guy was very helpful and friendly and spoke English. As for the weird elevator set-up, just take the stairs.

This hotel is good value for Munich and I'm glad we came across it online before leaving for a couple of weeks touring Bavaria. The room was quiet and clean. Our bed was creeky, I have to say which was a problem while trying to get over jet lag. The elevator is tiny and used mostly for luggage. Parking is free if there is a spot but it is tight. Breakfast is classic German fare --good and hardy. The staff are friendly, helpful and speak English well.

Room Tip: If internet access is important, ask about it when being assigned your room. Our room was out of ran...

I stayed in a single room for one day.

The location is not bad, about 30-45 minutes walk from Central Station and there is a tram stop nearby.

The hotel inside looks old, worn and dark (which I don't think they are a big problem).
However the corridor to the room has no light, or maybe it is too dark to see if there is a light switch.

The room is small but enough for a solo traveller. There is TV, cabinet, desk and chair, and bathroom. It is clean but looks old, worn and dark.

The environment is quiet which I really appreciate.

One last thing: They have NO bike for rental.

We stayed in this hotel for one week in the end of August.
Hotel is not located in the center of Munich but you can reach the center by metro or by tram.
Hotel doesn't have any special facilities but it is clean, cosy, with very friendly staff and quite good breakfast.
Room where we stayed was tiny but again very cosy.

I stayed in the property at the start of the recent Oktoberfest festival. Whilst it is a bit of distance to the city centre (30 minutes walk unless using the train) it was only a 10 min walk to Oktoberfest. The rooms although not huge are very clean and above all the service was that of a five star hotel and was its strongest selling point. Being a family run business every request was promptly adhered to without fuss and all staff were very efficient, prompt and courteous. The breakfast room was traditional and quite relaxing. For those looking for a solid mid priced hotel i would definitely recommend this one.........

Room Tip: Rooms off the main road are significantly quieter. Rooms are very basic but clean

We were delayed in getting into Munich from flights and so by the time we arrived our booked hotel room at another hotel had been sold - the Hahn helped us right out. :) We have a three year old and I was coming from the states with our daughter and my hubby was meeting us from Saudi Arabia so you can imagine the frustration! We were exhausted and they were so welcoming and wonderful. We had a nice room, a little small but that's the norm in Europe most of the time. The owners were so gracious and friendly, they recommended wonderful restaurants and gave us maps and directions to all the attractions. We only spent 3 nights, but they made our crazy trip and a rough situation much better! The location was nice, there was a small park within walking distance off the beaten path for my daughter to play at, and the bus and railway are close by for getting around the city. My hubby enjoyed spending time in their small pub and speaking with the owner - we learned so much from them and can't thank them enough for all their help!

Room Tip: Rooms in the back are better. We had a room facing the street and there is a pub next door so it wa...

Very friendly family run hotel decorated in a Bavarian style. Lovely German breakfast with lots of fresh bread, rolls & cold cuts, great coffee!! A little bit out of the main city centre, but is on a direct tram route into the city. Only downside was the room is on the small side & we had to keep the windows shut (in quite hot weather) due to the traffic noise outside.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing away from the main road.
