“Excellent modern Hotel”
Reviewed 19 March 2014

Was fortunate enough to get tickets to see the Champions League fixture between Bayern and Arsenal and stayed here overnight. Hotel is very modern and rooms, bar and breakfast were all of the highest quality.
Would stay here ag

This hotel is a true gem for business travelers. Smart, really caring and very kind staff. Very, very clean rooms. The beds - i stayed several times for weeks in different rooms - are perfect, at least for me. The modern rooms are in a very good shape. Everything is there *and* it is in a perfectly working condition (lamps, WiFi, hair-dryer, bathroom fittings, you name it..). Very good breakfast with many choices and, again, staff takes care of everything almost instantly - so no missing dishes, no waiting queues, no messed up tables. I enjoyed some excellent dishes in the restaurant in the evening and amazing and tasty cocktails at night. One can park easily in the underground garage - this is rare for Munich, where most underground garages are tiny and one has to use coins or cards to just leave (not to access). Public transport is very close, too. After having some mixed experiences with hotels in the same price range and area of town i am truly happy to have found a place where i actually look forward to return to after a busy day.

Room Tip: If you prefer an ultra quiet room ask for a room located in one of the internal courtyards.

Located in a mixed business and residential area, a kilometre or two from the main station. Tram and U-Bahn stops about 2 mins walk.

Expansive breakfast (included in room rate), reasonable bar prices, and free wi-fi make this a decent find. Rooms functional and comfortable. However, as with many business hotels, there wasn't much in the way of atmosphere.

Lowenbrau Keller very close, with excellent beer and hearty nosh. Recommended. Good restaurants and cafes on and around Nymphenburger Strasse (2 mins walk).

Overall, good for business, perhaps less so for tourists.

Room Tip: Go for a room overlooking the garden.

With 8 of our friends we stayed at the hotel for the New Year for 4 nights. Our room, which was brand new and had a Nespresso machine, was located in the newly added part.Although it was uncontrollably hot, it was very quiet, modern, clean and well lit. It was a 25 minute walk to the city center, but we preferred to take the very punctual trams (there were three in the direction of Karlsplatz) since we were only 3-4 stops from the center. The tickets could be bought at the stops for any time period at very convenient prices. The breakfast at the restaurant of the hotel was awesome with champagne and fresh orange juice. However, the New Year's dinner left a lot to be desired! Our friends had some problems with the bed pillows that were too soft and for some reason could not be changed. I liked the spacious modern bathroom very much with its complimentary toiletries-The Body Shop. What I didn't like was the bar area which had very little light and unsuitable music. In short, it was value for the money.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new section. We had room # 554 facing the backyard, which was quiet and was awa...

I've visited this hotel for the new year, and I can say that this hotel is quite a good one, but only after the first night.

The first night we had some problems regarding heating of the room (which was being kept at like 30 degrees) and I couldn't sleep a bit. I couldn't control the temperature for my room since it was all on central heating, so I had to end up tyring to sleep with the window open, albeit unsuccessfully since the our room overlooked a busy road which also had trams and police cars with sirens at times! Another problem which I had was the pillow. I think it was a feather pillow, and let out a huge amount of dust, making my mornings the dryest I ever had and my nose was always getting blocked. Oh and It was extremely soft too. I couldn't breathe since i sleep sideways like probably a majority of people do, and the pillow wrapped around my face. After the night we voiced our concerns to the reception lady and everything was fixed or amended. The temperature was set to something more comfortable, and more pillows were provided, even though unfortunately the problem remained since now i had 2 very soft pillows coving my whole face. I just shut up and made with what i had then.

The rooms are sizeable and comfortable, the bed was great, everything was clean (as far as the eye can see).

As regards to the breakfast, there was a very good selection, including scrambled eggs, bratwurst and sausages, yogurts, cerals, fresh fruit, bread, sweets, cheeses, salamis, hams, and the whole lot.

Transport to the centre and olympia park was a breeze... a tram station was just about 3 mins down the road, and a ubahn maybe 10 mins walk with connections to the central statrion and sendlinger tor.

The staff was very helpful and available to all our requests, the bar was open every night with a good selection, and dinners were available too, in fact one of the nights we were knackered and ended up eating from the hotel restaurant. Maybe not the biggest plate i had from munich, but definately well presented and well cooked with lots of fresh ingredients.

There are also a couple of supermarkets in the vicinity. One is just opposite the hotel (Lidl) and another one is half way down to the U bahn station. Very handy.

Final verdict? I'd say it was more of a 3.5 star than a 4 star. I would stay again since it wasn't expensive at all, but i'd request the temperature change when checking in, and see if i can get a pillow from somewhere else!

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back!!

Nice and comfortable, very close to tram lines and within short walking distance from subway. However, if you suffer from allergies take your antihistamines with you! feather pillows let out a fair amount of dust. We also had to ask them to turn down heating as room was too hot and we could not leave window open due to the noise from the trams and cars passing on the street
