“Nice hotel next to the terminal”
Reviewed 7 September 2010

A very nice hotel to stay at if you are making an overnight connection at MUC or don't want to stay downtown. Very quiet with no noise from the runways. Walking distance to airport terminals and S-bahn station to downtown Munich (40-45 min). Supermarket next to S-bahnstation. Nice clean rooms with good bathrooms. Old style TV in room (no flatscreen). Nice restaurant with great breakfast.

The Kempinski is expensive, but it's worth every penny for a relaxing and stress-free night before an early morning departure. No shuttle bus is required as the hotel lobby is connected to the airport concourse. We chose a mini-suite with sep, arate bedroom and sitting room. It cost only a little more than a regular room when booked on-line. It had all the amenities of a first-class hotel, a very comfortable bed, spacious and well-equipped bathroom, and it was very quiet as long as the windows were closed and the A/C was on.

Although we only stayed at this hotel for a few hours, it was truly world class. Needing to return a rental car, it couldn't have been more convenient! We pulled up to the hotel, were met by the bellboy, who helped us to unload our luggage. Then, he gave us detailed, simple directions to return our car and walk back (completely inside, covered) to the hotel. We received personal attention to check in, and were accompanied to our room. After unloading all of our bags, he proceeded to give us a detailed tour of our room. We had our own coffee machine, a welcome greeting on the TV, our extra cot was already in the room, set up, with bedding too. We were shown how to use the "key" to the room, shown our bathrobes and slippers, the phone, how to turn the lights on/off by the bed - and said that if we needed ANYTHING to contact him and he would PERSONALLY come up to the room to assist us. WOW.

The business center tried to print my boarding passes, but couldn't, but she was very helpful and pleasant. The front desk offered to provide two wake-up calls and a free shuttle over to the airport for our 7 AM flight.

PROBLEM: Internet access was only available in the lobby area, NOT in our rooms, which was very inconvenient. Also, in order for me and my two teenagers to access the internet, we had to use one iPod touch. Most places we had stayed in allowed us to ALL use one access code. A laptop connection was provided for free in the rooms.

We also went to the restaurant in the hotel for dinner. It seems as if it was a gourmet place, and we had trouble choosing. When our dinner arrived it was interesting and unique, but a bit too different for my teenagers' taste buds. The service was great, beverages (pop, wine, water) were all good, and the bread and sample dips we were served were lovely.

I would stay in this hotel again in a heartbeat, because of it's convenience and superb customer service. The hotel was elegantly designed and furnished - we felt very pampered, even though we only slept for a few hours before checking out.

We did peek in at the pool and it was very difficult to leave without taking a dip!

Wonderful hotel. Convenient to the airport. Easy train ride into city center. Great lobby bar. Comfortably elegant room. Only downside for me was that the wifi is only in the lobby and not in the rooms, lame. Would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is the only one in walking distance of Munich airport, so as we had a very early flight had no choice but to book a room. At least we thought we had! It turned out that we had booked the Kempinski in Munich itself and because it was 8pm when we found out our mistake it was too late to un-book the Munich one. The reception staff said this happens all the time, so beware when booking online. Negotiations are still continuing about our refund!

The hotel room was very comfortable and clean, but nothing remarkable. We enjoyed a drink and snack in the bar under the palm trees in the lobby.

Great hotel-the only truly airport hotel. You can walk to the airport. Hotel has excellent services. On the expensive side but being so close to the airport makes up for it.

The hotel is comfortable and the service is good. I stayed few times in Kempinski but the last time I had some stress. With the package "park, sleep and fly" there is a need to stay minimum 24h in the hotel in order not to pay parking. If you need an emergency stay in this Kempinski, park just for the few hours of sleep and catch a flight early in the morning, I suggest looking for other hotels... you will not only pay (much) for the room but the expensive parking in the aiport.
Early bird breakfast is poor.
