“Fabulous stay”
Reviewed 2 January 2014

I was very uncertain about choosing this hotel as I was unfamiliar with the chain. I was ultimately very impressed. The lobby bar was inviting and elegant. Our room was small for the price but so beautifully decorated that it was not noticeable. The shower was amazing...black marble with a "rain forest" effect that included a dim switch with a light show. We did have a major problem with the lights- they wouldn't turn on- and the hotel fixed this every time we called but I would have preferred a permanent solution as it was bothersome to call every time we needed lights. The staff is young but very well trained. The concierge was excellent. I will certainly use this hotel chain again if its available to me. I'd rank them with the Four seasons.

The hotel was originally opened in July 1858 and offers a lot of heritage & history.
The service is outstanding amongst all staff. I must highlight Mr. Florian Fischer of the hotel bar who mixed us amazing cocktails and one speciality is his own Margarita recipe ( Paprika / Bell Pepper ). We enjoyed our stay between 26 - 31 December and our room 210 facing Maximilian Strasse was very nice.
Having stayed in several Luxury Hotels in past many years, I can say this hotel deserves to be mentioned being amongst the best in this world.
Everything of interest is walking distance and several good local restaurants are nearby. The Concierge is very helpful and can recommend or arrange any reservation required for great restaurants within Munich.
The fitness room however would need a bit of improvement but Munich itself offers a lot of activities

I am visiting the hotel for years and on a recent visit stayed in one of their newly renovated rooms in the so called "new part" of the hotel. though the rooms are smaller than the ones in the original part of the building they are absolutely fantastic. The design is elegant yet fully refreshed. Almost prefer them now over the larger rooms.
Service in this hotel was - as usual - impeccable in all areas and especially during breakfast. Bar service was a little slow on one occasion but not to the extend that it would tarnish the experience.
Best Concierge team in the city.
When in need for a place in Munich - only the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten!

Room Tip: With the newly renovated rooms all rooms are great. i prefer the smaller, newer rooms

It was my 2nd trip to Munich and whilst the previous hotel we stayed in was great, my husband and I always liked to try something new. We chose this hotel as it was a luxury hotel situated right in the shopping street and a 3-5min walk to Hofbrauhaus as well.

Hotel was fabulous with intricate decor and elegance. The receptionist was great and incredibly courteous and even gave us a brief history of the hotel. The lounge or "The Living Room" was fully packed daily with hotel guests and visitors around for lunch, tea, dinner, late-night chill out. We happened to have a late lunch there and the food was incredible.. The porters were also very helpful with the luggages and the cabs, everything went smoothly..

As for the room, it was beautifully furnished and had almost everything one could ask for. Bed was hard but the pillows was just a tad too soft.. The other improvement they could possibly make was probably to have a little kettle and cups for tea/coffee.. There was complimentary bottled water but no coffee/tea which would be great for the winter season...

Overall it was a great stay!

Attending a seminar at the hotel so in a way I had to stay at Vier Jahreszeiten. No reason to complain: starting from the check-in everything works as planned and the christmas tree in the lobby was stunning. I particularly enjoyed using the iPad that was in the room. The bathroom is also worth mentioning: very modern and stylish.

We stayed for 3 days in December 2013, and we found house keeping was very bad. I put used bathrobes on the floor for having them exchange for washed clean ones, however they didn't change and I found them hung up again!! I could understand that sleeves were turned over when I took off. This is unforgivable, how could they do this!? Yesterday shampoo and soap were not supplied, today any glass was not prepared for mini bar, forgotton to put shoe shine sponge... Hotel should give house keeping staff well education as soon as possible. Otherthings were OK.

Just returned from 3 nights at this fabulous hotel. Booked it through American Express Platinum Fine Hotels. From the moment we entered the beautiful lobby with an almost 18 foot Christmas Tree decorated with Swarovski snowflakes, to the morning we left the hotel, we had the perfect stay. The ladies at Reception were friendly, helpful with great suggestions as was the man at Concierge, and professional. Rooms were beautifully appointed with king size beds and fine linens. Cleaning staff greeted us each day with a big smile. Breakfast was the best in a long time. Buffett was expansive with plenty of variety. Food always fresh, hot and appealing. We both had spa serves (massage). Disappointing as it seemed in both our cases (we each had a different male massage therapists) not much effort was used. Seemed almost bored with us. Will not return to that Spa again! The only negative point if I were asked is that there was no hand railing on a flight of steps leading from the 4th floor to the 3rd floor in the section we stay in. Elevator dropped us at Floor 3/4. Could be tricky for an older person or one with mobility issues. All in all, we will surely return to this gem of a hotel.!!!!
