Wonderful breakfast with outdoor garden. Clean and well appointed rooms. Fantastic staff. Only negative was no air conditioning during warm weather; a bit noisy with the windows open.

We recommend this hotel to travelers who want to be close to the center of town, but in the quiet part of town. There was a small parking garage at the hotel, but a large one across the street. The U-Bahn station was a 10 minute walk and then about 10 more minutes on the U-Bahn train to being in Marianplatz (center of town). The room was clean and fully functional. The staff was friendly, spoke English well, and very willing to help in any way. About a 5 minute walk away are shops including grocery stores and pharmacies (apoteke), which is a great way to get snacks and necessities at a reasonable cost. The breakfast buffet had rolls, meats, pastries, and drinks. Clean, quiet and safe.

My husband and I stayed here for the Munich portion of our honeymoon. The room was very clean and spacious, and my husband was able to get a room with a balcony which made the value even better.

Breakfast is included in the price and the selection is fantastic. Lots of different meat, cheese, bread and jams and the coffee isn't half bad!

The location is minutes away from the Oktoberfest grounds, and a short walk to the U-Bahn station Schwanthalerhöhe which will get you anywhere including the main central station.

The only negative about this hotel is the internet! It was free, but the quality was absolute crap! Half the time it wouldn't work, and the girls at the front desk didn't know how to fix it. It got quite annoying after awhile.

Other than that minor annoyance, I would definitely come back here!

Munich and Hotel Bavaria was our last stop on a 2 1/2 week tour of Europe and was, unfortunately, our least favorite hotel experience. The rings and one-way streets around the Hotel were not the easiest to navigate and we were quite excited when were finally arrived (and found a parking spot) only to meet the most unpleasant receptionist at the desk. The reception was approaching nasty during the duration of our three-night stay and our good feelings toward the hotel were not helped with a tight and uncontrollably hot room. Also, the free wifi was incredibly spotty and very slow -- too slow for even the most basic website or email.
On the plus side, the hotel was within walking distance of the metro and had an excellent breakfast buffet included in the reasonable nightly rate. The free parking was also nice, though you have to be careful where you park and make sure to get the permit from the hotel (and return it! -- not returning the permit adds a large fine to your bill.)
If we had it to do again, we'd seek other Munich accommodations before checking into Hotel Bavaria again.

Just arrived late at night and the recepcionist gave us an free upgrade: a apartment outside the hotel with two bedrooms, kitchen, living room and W.C. with bathtub. We couldn't ask for more!
The location is perfect for those who travel to the oktoberfest (I wasn't), though, is a little bit far from the other atractions. But it wasn't a trouble cause I like to walk around the town.
Delicious bavarian breakfast; friendly and helpfull staff.

This Hotel is nice and clean and the ideal location for falling out of the Octoberfest, but that also has its downside, the hotel rooms have no air conditioning and the warm September nights mean that you either lay awake until the Octobefest closes for the night or you close your windows and sweat all night. The rooms are good size, pillows and beds not particluarly comfortable and there are no tea/coffee facilities. The Octoberfest is out of this world, fantatstic facilities and every natiionallity getting along with each other. I would suggest if you are in Munich purely for the Octoberfest and stay till the end of the night then this hotel is perfect albeit a little pricey.
