Well I was looking for something close to the train station so I scoured
TripAdvisor as usual. Lucked out with this really nice hotel. The receptionist
worry very nice and cordial. The room was well decorated and very cozy
including a half crown above the bed (see pic). A well stocked coffee maker.
One of those you put the capsule of coffee grounds with different flavors. Loved that!
The room actually had oil paintings adding a homey touch.
We went to try out the restaurante and it was closed. We went to have something
litght in the lounge across from reception but the poor guy there said it would be a while
since he's the cook and the waiter but very apologetic about it. It would have been nice to stay in because it was warm and cozy. We were starved so we decided to eat out.

We came back and tried out the spa and fortunately we were the only ones there.
It's a little small so I don't think 4 people is the max to use the facility at once...
I really enjoyed the warm, comfortable and welcoming vibe I got from the hotel and would
love to stay here again!

My husband and I had a city break staying at the Kings Hotel First Class Munich in February 2011 and can only sing its praises! It is an excellent hotel on many levels - it is located 5 minutes walk from the central station and Munich bus tours and a 10-15 minute walk to the centre of Munich itself. The hotel is immaculate and the rooms are furnished in typical Bavarian style with beautiful wooden panelling - the beds are very comfortable and the in room coffee maker was very much appreciated. I suggest you buy some milk in Netto next door! Also, the bar is expensive and again it would be a good idea to stock up in Netto! The breakfasts were superb, with plenty of choices and very attentive and polite staff. I was fascinated with the daily greeting on the lift mat wishing you a nice day, changed each day along with the weather report! The staff throughout the hotel were helpful and polite and always willing to assist with any queries. We would recommend this hotel to anyone without reservation and would not hesitate to stay there again on any future trips to Munich.
The references in some reviews of this hotel to the area being seedy we found were not relevant - yes there is a dance club over the road but it was always quiet and we felt very safe.
Thank you for a lovely stay!

Close to train station (easy to walk there)
Easy access to city
In a slightly seedy area (casinos and lap dancing, but seemed safe)
Staff helpful
Rooms small but sufficient and comfortable (standard small modern hotel size with Bavarian furnishings (=carved wood)
Rooms a little dark but able to read
Internet access was limited to half an hour free and pay thereafter (the 30mins appeared to be whether it was being used or not- just having the connection)

The rooms are small and compact, however very well finished. This is extremely good value for money for a central hotel.

Bar - great little place which we sat in, very efficient staff.

Breakfast, outstanding, waffles and champagne! I went to make my waffles and a lovely gentleman asked me to sit down and he would bring them over when they were ready. I've never had this in one of the chain hotels and he also insisted in refilling my glass.

The staff are truly exceptional here, the best from our trip (even better than Intercontenental)

The beds were good with nice quality linen. Also the public rooms and spaces were exceptional.

OK so this is in the red light district, however this wasn't a problem at all. There may be signs outside the clubs, but you don't see anyone on the streets.

Even the train station is not as challenging as one you would expect to find in the UK. Lovely place.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. The hotel is very close to the main train station which was great because we did day trips most days around Bavaria. If we had spent more time in Munich I would picked a different hotel in a better location. The neighborhood the hotel is situated in is not the nicest. The room was good but there was only news channels in English. The coffee machines in the room were a huge winner. The hotel itself is lovely but doesn't have gym, which is sad. The staff were helpful and nice. The price for the hotel was fantastic which we got through wotif.

Centrally located, 5 mins walk from main train station and easy connection to Munich Airport via S Bahn.
Very clean, well run hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Had a problem with heating in room on arrival (early evening), room was like a sauna, was fixed next day.
Booked a suite, and room was large, well equipped, with free coffee maker, mineral water, toileteries, gowns, slippers etc, room safe etc.
The only downside, was that even with all the lights on, the room was very dark, the only area that was bright was the bathroom, so finding anything in the wardrobe/safe became a challenge! Our room was front facing, which meant some tram noise, but not a major downside, unless you have to open the windows, then it is very loud.
Hotel bar is small but well run by a good barman.
Never tried the breakfast, preferring to go to one of the numerous local cafes in the city centre.(Rischarts are a very good option).
Travel is easy using the integrated day travel cards, Munich is not that large, so it does not take long to get to any of the main attractions.

What a great hotel for exploring Munich, just 20 mins walk into the centre, and a couple of minutes to the nearest underground station. It was easy to find, and the reception was welcoming and efficent with our booking since we had lost our hotel coupon. We booked through lastminute.com as a un-named deal and we were delighted! The room was small but beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable and clean. The coffee pod machine in the room really made it for me (sad I know but I like a good coffee and having been provided with instant in the previous hotels on our trip it was a excellent suprise, and a nice touch). The internet was down during our stay but the reception were more than happy to help with our searches. We didn't have breakfast as we were eager to get out and explore, there are many coffee shops and bakeries around. The hotel parking was a bit expensive but seemed secure and safe so we were willing to pay. An excellent choice.
