“Excellent location and very good value and service”
Reviewed 7 December 2012

Very good location near to the Central Station and ideal for the Christmas Markets which we went for in our 3 night stay. We were allocated Room 502 on the Saturday we arrived and despite requesting a change the hotel cold not offer us an alternative apart from a smoking room. Room 502 and other similar numbers on other floors is an awkward shape and s Allen than the rectangular rooms. The bathroom only has a shower and is very small. The rooms were adequately heated but the aircon cooling did not appear to work. Well furnished but we would advise booking a full size room.
Otherwise the staff were extremely good and the breakfast was excellent quality and plenty of choice. Again staff at breakfast very helpful and made us welcome.
The Hotel is very well decorated with style, and we we enjoyed our stay, but it would have been better with a different room. We were out most of the time during this short stay and would use this hotel again, but not with this room.
Travelling to and from Munich airport to the hotel is easy. Either by Shuttle bus which leaves every 20 minutes to the Central Station or by the S8 train. Both take about 40 minutes and the cost is approx 10 euros one way. We used both and preferred the shuttle bus. The ticket machine at the airport was confusing for the train. From the Central Station it is only 5 minutes walk to the hotel.
Hotel gives voucher for 30 minutes wifi per person per day and this can be used in the room.
Reception staff very helpful, with maps and tour details.
The tours by RADIUS TOURS are good value and their guides very knowledgeable.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the quieter side, higher floor better, if non smoker pre inform hotel so as to avoi...

We had a great stay at the King's First Class. Great location just a few blocks from the main train station. Just a few blocks in the other direction from a subway stop that is even closer. Great bar downstairs to unwind and check e-mail. Great German feel to the hotel and the rooms.

Where do i start?? This hotel is fabulous!
My Husband and I were late arriving at this hotel - i had emailed them the day before to advised them.
When we arrived our original room had been re-sold, however they had an apartment for us - at the back of the hotel.
When we got to room 802 - it was so lovely - the 4 poster bed was a surprise!
The bathroom was equiped well - toiletries were supplied, clean towels and even scales!
The Room had a minibar/fridge, snacks and a nespresso machine!
The Room was very quiet - didnt hear anything that night - slept the best i have slept in 3 years! (since having my daughter!)
The bar was open - we arrived about 12 midnight - so we got a bottle of house red wine - it was €22 but worth every cent - really nice choice from the barlady. She had her hands full with a brit who had overindulged in the Munich beer and she handled the situation very well!

Breakfast - Oh My GOD!!!! Lovely breakfast room - it had been decorated for Chrismas - really nice touch.
The staff were very welcoming - they brought tea and coffee to the table and the breakfast was buffet style - choice - amazing - i have stayed in 5 star hotels that had a lot less choice!
So pick from pastries, toast, cereal, smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, ham, cheese, yoghurts - allsorts! even champagne!

Location - only 5 minutes from the train/bus station - 10 mins from the main areas of Marienplatz.

**As we stayed over friday-sunday, i have to tell you that most of the shops close on sunday! Luckily we shopped on saturday and viewed the sights on sunday :)

I will definately stay here again - The staff are very friendly and are a credit to the hotel!
As a Travel Agent i will be reccommending this hotel to guests!
Many Thanks for a Wonderful 1st stay in Munich!!!

Room Tip: our room was 802 - at the back - very quiet (we stayed fri-sat night) lovely 4 poster bed

Nice cosy hotel. Just round the corner from the main train station. area seemed safe so don't be put off by reviews to the contrary.Place looks very traditional with all the wood panelling. About a 10 - 15 min walk to main part of town. Nespresso machine in room was a nice touch. Only complaint was the heat in the rooms....the ac didn't seem to work that well. Despite this would go back and stay here again. A solid choice .

After a lot of research and review reading we decided to book this hotel . The location is excellent and the hotel is very welcoming and friendly. Only a few minutes walk from the main station and you are there. Friendly ,helpful staff and a cosy seating area near the bar gave a relaxing feel to our stay
The area was safe and quiet and after reading other reviewers comments about a gentlemans club across the road I looked out for it to see what all the fuss was about. "It's a doorway with a few neon lights" .
We visited Munich for the Christmas markets and had a great time, The hotel is in a prime location for visiting early all the markets around 10minutes tops to the Marienplatz and we walked from the Hotel to the Chinese Tower in the Englischer Garten where there was a lovely craft market this took about 20 minutes.
You can also walk to the Tolwood festival in the evening, again another 20 minutes.
We paid for our shuttle bus back to the airport at the hotel reception(10.5euros) each and caught the bus fro outside the Hauptbahnhoff two minute walk from the hotel, perfect!

Room Tip: We stayed on 6 th floor, nice and quiet, there is two lifts so there was no problem

We make the King's Hotel FIrst Class "our stop in Munich". The hotel is spotless, rooms are good size for Europe, and the hotel staff is friendly and professional.

The hotel is centrally located, only five minutes from the train station. It is a safe area and we have never had a problem walking the streets from the Hotel to the train station or to Marienplatz.

Our room was on the fifth floor and was extremely quiet. We never hear a sound from outside. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was great. I wish I had the same shower pressure at home.

This trip I can't comment on the restaurant since we were here with friends and were on the go from early morning to late evening

I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Munich for a vacation who is planning day trips out of the train station.

We will return here.

Room Tip: Get a club room on away from the street.

The hotel is just 200 meters from the Hauptbahnhof so it is close to everything. Five minutes walk and you are at the Marienplatz with a pedestrian street and all the shopping. Stayed here two nights in conjunction with a trade show and had nothing to complain about. Sure there is a stripbar across the street, but if you've been to Munich before, you know that the area around the Hauptbahnhof there are plenty of those. Next door to the hotel is a Netto store which can be handy. My room was small and not of the modern version, but for a few days' accommodation good enough. Windows facing the street, but it did not disturb my sleep. The breakfast was okey, not one remembers afterwards but perfectly adequate. Minibar and thea / coffeemaker was also in the room. I've probably been to Munich around twenty times and lived in a number of hotels, my opinion is that this is a typical mid class hotel in the city and I could very well stay there again on a short business trip. However, if I would go on vacation with my wife, I might have chosen a different option.
