“Nice Bathroom”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

For the price, it was not a bad room for 3 days. It was in a convenient location if you like to walk. It is a rather long walk from the train station, and it was drizzling when we arrived while hauling luggage. However, it wasn't worth paying bus fare for just one stop. I confess that during the return trip to the train station with our luggage, we did not pay. Germany does have an honor system when it comes to public transportation, however I paid quite a bit for the service. The day we visited Salzburg, we had to travel to the Munchen OST station. This was very convenient from the hotel, as the #62 bus passes right by. Also, the #62 and #52 takes you just a few stops to Marienplatz, or the Viktualienmarkt...or you can walk.
The room at the hotel were rather dated. I originally thought it was charming, however the musty odor was from the old furniture placed there. The bathroom was large, had a bathtub, and good water pressure. There was a small refrigerator filled with item for purchase. I was able to fit a few of my beverages in there.
We were at the end of the building however you can still hear all of the traffic in the front. If you wish to sleep past 7 am, do NOT stay here. There is a church in the across the street that chimes its bell every hour beginning at 7am.
Because of the traffic noise and church bell, I'm not sure I would stay here again. But it wasn't bad for the price.

I stayed here the day before Oktoberfest started so I am not sure if it is normally so expensive but I felt that they were charging too much for the room. The room & hotel are very dated and the walls are pretty thin so you can hear all the people walking by and your neighbors and the street. Not a lot within walking distance either but there is a bus stop right across the street.

Try not to stay in the room where your windows face the main road when you have to leave the windows open in the summer nights. Noise from the vehicles moving in the nights can be disturbing. A mini supermarket "Tengelmann" is 5 mins walk away from hotel.

As we were going back to Munich last december to enjoy the Christkindlmarkt we wanted to stay at this charming hotel where we had been two yrs earlier in the summer. Notice that if your flight arrives after 22.00 remember to talk to the hotel before you arrive! The reception closes then and they will put your key in a box outside. Had we forgotten to tell them the time of arrival the day before we would have had nowhere to sleep that first night. The hotel is still charming but stank of cigarette smoke in the reception. Because of the xmas celebrations there were a lot of people in the Schmausefalle all the time - the noise level unbelievable - the staff stressed out. This meant that there were nowhere to chill out apart from the rooms - a bit claustrophobic. The window in one of the rooms was broken and could not be opened. The single roms are all at the top floor and are quite charming. But this hotel is probably best visited in the summer.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the "innerhof" so that you dont hear the church bells across the...

My sister and I booked this hotel on expedia. We received an email that the hotel operated a 24-hour check-in service. We arrived at 11:00 pm to find the reception closed and no one around. The website for the hotel did not say anything about reception closing at a certain time. I was very disappointed in the hotel and would not recommend it to anyone.

The room was spacious, spotless, with a bavarian flair, the bathroom was quite big and very clean. The hotel is very convenient to those who want to stay in city centre, it's only 5 min by bus to Marienplatz or by tram to Hauptbahnhof. Also there is a small bakery shop on the opposite side of the street which serves also beverages. I would definitely stay here again.

My daughter lives in Munich so I used a lot of different hotels and this is no bad indeed. Quite position, 15 min walk to Marienplatz, very well served with bus. Clean rooms, kind english speaking receptionists , car parking along the sidewalk at 6 euro/day. Breakfast non included but in Munich is best using a one of good the many bakery in town, and it's also cheaper.
