It is a very comfortable hotel, good service (breakfast is very good) and very close to the city center. I stay at the hotel whenever I travel to Munich since 30 years. I highly recommend it to the travellers.

I and my friend stayed for 2 nights here. It is located right across the street from the main train station of Munich. You can't miss this pinkish building. The room was large so there was no problem in putting our big heavy luggage. The TV was quite old fashion, still a tube version not a flat screen, but it's okay considering we were out most of the time. The breakfast was average, not much of a choice than eggs, fruits and bread. The hotel only has 1 kettle jug to boil water so we had to go down from our room to make our evening tea and water the cup noodle. But the staffs were nice and helpful all the time. The location was good but you must be willing to hear almost 24h non stop conversations from the streets outside since the hotel located near the hostels. It was also the time when Bayern Munchen was beaten by Real Madrid at the Championship league so the devastated youth were kind of -can't eat can't sleep-mode and decided to drink around the city. The wifi signal was not strong but managed to keep my blackberry messenger on most of the time.
The Munchen Hauptbahnhof was the highlight of the stay since it's just a few steps away. Good place for a sightseeing too before going down to the subway platform.

We stayed at the Hotel Europaischer Hof in May 2014 as the last leg of our holiday before we went back to our country. Just wanted a place to overnight with a close proximity to the München Hauptbahnhof (German for Munich Main station). You cannot get closer. From the airport you take the S-bahn straight to the Hauptbahnhof (40 minutes) and then you walk across the road to reach the hotel.

The room are spacious but show a little datedness in them. However, it is a three star hotel and the room rate is very reasonable. Therefore, it really does not bother that much.
The breakfast (included in room rate) is excellent. Both hot and cold option with continental option sufficient.

The hotel is within easy walking distance from the Marienplatz and the Hofbräuhaus for an afternoon lunch a good German Beer.

Will recommend the hotel to any tourist looking for a clean, comfortable room that would not expect the luxuries of a higher graded hotel.

Room Tip: We stayed on the seventh floor overlooking Hirtenstrasse - back area of the holel. Good quiet locati...

We all know the old saw about "Location, location, location". Well, it's true at the HEH. If access to public transport is an important part of your travel plans, it can't be beat. Couple that with very reasonable prices, a pleasant and extremely helpful staff, clean and well appointed rooms, and a breakfast guaranteed to satisfy all appetites and preferences, sending you out into the world ready for whatever you've planned. No lunch and dinner service; no dance club or bar scene; and no swimming pool/spa to tempt you to "eat in" rather than go explore the local environs like a good traveler should.
Oh! And the beds were very comfortable!

Room Tip: We sleep with the window open, and the combination of the bahnhof and college students on spring bre...

I've stayed at HEH several times now, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The staff are invariably helpful. Rooms are comfortable. Breakfast is substantial. Rooms on Bayerstraße can be noisy, but the courtyard-facing rooms are havens of tranquility.
The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is the mysterious disappearance of the coffee machine from 'Coffee Corner'!

I was arriving in the morning and leaving in the late evening to catch a plane and have called the hotel beforehand asking whether they could book a room for day-use. They said they were unable to do so and told me to show up in the morning and that's what I did. Unfortunately they only had two tiny rooms available and so I got the premium one, which was still super tiny and noisy. Obviously they had other rooms or they could have switched me, but the receptionist just couldn't be bothered.

The room was so so, the shower door was broken so there was a flood all over the bathroom after taking the shower. WiFi doesn't work, so they'll give you this small device at the reception, which you plug into LAN to make an access point. Breakfast was ok, nothing special.

I requested a wake-up call and it never came, I saw some other comments around here that this is the standard modus operandi for this hotel - just beware.

I'd definitely stay elsewhere next time.

Stayed here in early March 2014. Location is great, near train station and very easy to walk to the city center. Rooms were clean.

However, I was very disappointed in the hotel clerks and customer service. First, we called the front desk about the wi-fi which was not working in our room. The clerk was not very helpful at all in trying to fix the problem and just recommended trying to connect another day.

The biggest issue however was the wake up call service. On the night before our international flight, we requested a wake up call around 4-430 AM. No wake up call came, but fortunately we woke up in time to catch the train to the airport and make our flight. As we were leaving, I asked the clerk why we did not receive a wake up call. He looked in his ledger, confirmed that we had requested one, but instead of apologizing just shrugged his shoulders and said 'oh well.' Extremely poor customer service and would not stay here again.
