I have just stayed at this hotel for five nights and would willingly do so again when I return to Munich.
The location is excellent; in the town centre and very close to the trams and the U-bahn station at Sendlinger Tor. You will have to change from the S-bahn to the U-bahn if you are coming from the airport. The S8 is the better choice here. Change at Marienplatz. (At Sendlinger Tor look first of all for the Nusbaumstr. exit and then the Pettenkoferstr one. Once outside, go through the arch and you are there!).
The hotel itself is well decorated and furnished and seems to have been renovated very recently, I just had a single room but it was clean and comfortable with a desk, tv etc and a modern bathroom - with a full sized bath which was a nice bonus. The room was on the fifth floor and had a small balcony - but this is not the case on the lower floors.
The breakfast room was fitted out with modern furniture and was (just) big enough to ensure that you could expect a table when you came down to breakfast. There was a good selection of cereals, bread, cheese, ham etc and also some hot food. Fruit and cale to follow! A very good selection for a three star hotel.
The staff were pleasant and helpful although I made little demand on them.
Cafe Mozart is next to the hotel (part of the complex?) and serves good meals at reasonable prices - although they are part of the growing tendency of serving very large portions and then providing you with a carton with the remains on your plate for you to take home! Not a lot of use when you are staying in the hotel!!
There are lots of other cafes, bars etc in the area as Sendllinger Tor is a very active spot. A new Irish bar - Kennedy's has opened on the other side of the square and does a good selection of 'Irish' meals.
A good hotel in a good location - sums it up!

Room Tip: Some rooms on the fifth floor have a small balcony - whichis nice. Those on the street side seem to...

Excellent public transport connections in the immediate area, and just a ten-minute walk from Marienplatz and the main railway station were the reasons for choosing the Hotel Bristol. Although next to the lift, it was not possible to hear this and my small single room with balcony at the rear of the building was quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable (firm, but not overly so), free wifi in the room a useful plus. Both bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean, the staff I encountered polite and welcoming. I booked some 3 weeks in advance on line at a discount on the standard price. Several other hotels nearby of a similar standard ensure that pricing remains competitive and standards high.

Location is perfect, it is close to the main station and almost everything else you want to see in Munich. The accommodations are very good, the room is spacious and clean.
On the down side, there was no minibar in the room, so you cannot have a bottle of fresh water in the room, for example.

I was in Munich for the Marathon in October 2011 and for the first time I found a cheap room on-line in this hotel
Continental breakfast included in the price. All the staff was nice and helpful. I go to Munich often and this hotel is perfect because is in the city center, next to Sendlinger Tor stop (line U6)

I stayed at the Hotel Bristol for 4 nights in May 12. The rooms are small but clean. What sells this hotel is the position, right at Sendlinger Tor. This means access to U bahn and trams right outside the hotel. Also its only a 10 minute pleasant walk down store filled streets to Marienplatz.
The cafe right next door, Cafe Mozart, was also an excellent choice for dinner one night. Big portions and excellent value.
I will stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night in order to catch an early train to Prague in May 2012. It's about 15 minutes to walk to the hotel from the train station, but the hotel is also located right around the corner from a public transportation stop. The room had no air conditioning or fans, so it was really stuffy when we arrived on a 80 degree day. The street outside was noisy with a bar right opposite the hotel, so we didn't want to open the windows. The windows look directly into windows across the street and alleyway, so we pretty much kept the curtains closed as well. The bathroom was a good size, but the light didn't work above the toilet. There were gummy bears on our pillows when we arrived, which was a fun little treat! The hotel staff was not very warm and friendly. Internet was slow with bad reception. The breakfast was pretty good with a variety of bread, juices, cereals, and yogurts. The breakfast room was crowded, though. Overall, it was an okay place to stay for a night.

Room Tip: Room #222 was a large corner room with wall-length windows on both walls.

The Hotel Bristol was the first hotel I stayed at in Europe, in December 2011, we stayed for 3 nights. At first I thought it was a very small hotel (untill I saw some of the other hotels in Europe), it is in a small side road and there's not a lot of traffic passing by. There is however a small club across from the hotel (when I say small it's about the size of our hotel room) but the people who hang out there tend to be a bit noisy later at night. The location is very good, with a metro station right outside the hotel and it is in walking distance from the Marien platz, Hofbrauhaus etc. It is also right next to the amazing Kristkindlmarkt (Christmas market). The hotel staff is very friendly, the rooms are not very big but comfortable. The beds are very comfortable (which was nescasary after 11 hours of flying), and we got little packets of jelly bears on the pillows upon arival (nice touch) the bathroom has a decent size bathtub, but our bathroom light however flickered like we were in a disco and even though we asked them about 4 times to fix it, this never happened so we ended up using our other family members' bathroom (2 rooms next door), there were no coffee facilities in the room, but they sold very yummy cappucino's in the lobby, they also had free internet in the lobby. The rest of the family have been at the Bristol last year and said that they gave free gluwein in the lobby when it snows, unfortunately we were there before the snow this time around. The breakfasts were very good, with absolutely delicious freshly baked bread rolls. The selection is not that big but it is adequate. Be sure to try the giant snichels at the Mozart restaurant that is next to (attached to) the hotel!!

All in all the stay was good, with a few bad points here and there.
