Owner description: Munich City, Third Reich, Dachau, Salzburg, Nuremberg and Neuschwanstein and other Ludwig II Castles. A tour with Curt Milburn is like having a welcoming family friend show you around Munich. Curt's been called "The Wikipedia of History". He specializes in small group and private tours. Tours are tailor-made and Curt finds out what YOU want to see. His City Tours go beyond canned, set routes. You'll see the famous sites, architecture, learn about kings, Hitler, foods and beer. Our Third Reich Tours delve deep into more than when, but why and how the Nazis came to power and you'll see the bombed buildings of Hitler. Curt's Dachau tours are sensitive and remarkably moving and his Neuschwanstein and Castle tours are great fun. Salzburg & Nuremberg are within your reach with Big Hat Tours! Every tour is accompanied by an Apple i-Pad with hundreds of photos to put you into history.

My husband and I booked an afternoon with Curtis and it turned out to be an educational tour in an entertaining fashion. Curtis is amiable and humorous, making sure that he covers the interests of the third reich, booze and bargain buffs. His stories are interesting as though you were listening to an old friend.

“Don't Miss Munich with Curtis !”
Reviewed 8 June 2012

Having used Trip Advisor to plan our weekend in Munich I came across the reviews for The 'Big Hat Tours' and I am glad that I did. Curtis is full of life and overflowing with the history and all the facts that you have to have to make your trip complete. The tour is tailored to your needs and is very flexible. Our group of 3 couples met on a sunday morning for a city tour with Curtis where we were treated to a delightful 3 hours or so roam around Munich trying to take in all the facts and figures that Curtis stores in his head (and i pad !).
We could have gone on all day but hunger and more tours for the busy Curtis took over and Curtis sorted out our hunger pangs by taking us to his favourite restaurant for beer and the biggest schnitzel I have ever seen!
All in all you cannot visit Munich without a 'Big Hat Tour' , well worth your time and money!

“3 days with Top Hat Tours”
Reviewed 8 June 2012

May-June 2012. My wife and I spent 3 days with Curtis and his son Paul doing a Third Reich, Dachau and Neuschwanstein Castle Tour. We found Curtis to be very informative and took time answering the many questions my husband had concerning Hitler and the war era. In fact he was one of the very few people who knew that directly opposite where we were staying was Hitler's residence in Munich. This was confirmed a few days later by a local on the street. Curtis was friendly and his numerous computer photos of War time images at places we went to brought it so much to life. Curtis was able to work around maintenance problems with train lines and rain interruptions so that we were able to get full value for our time with him. Curtis also helped us to purchase Bus tickets to Prague and 3 day passes for Munich. Being English speaking made it so much easier to relate to him and better understand the information we were given. Curtis we wish you well in the future Phil & Gaylene - Brisbane Australia

“Great Guide, Great Person”
Reviewed 28 May 2012

We spent a day and half with Curt on the Third Reich and Dachau Tours. Our experience was certainly “5 stars”. To make the most of our time, Curt customized the Third Reich tour to include some Munich highlights. At Dachau, he was patient and allowed us to take the time that we needed (at such an overwhelming place). His love of history was apparent throughout the tours. He was well prepared, knowledgeable and engaging. To my husband’s questions, he answered not just the “what”, but the “how”. We could not have made a better choice for tours in the Munich area. Beside all of this, we enjoyed his company, and count our time talking over beers at the Chinese Tower Beer Garden as one of the most enjoyable afternoons of our entire trip. Thank you Curt for everything.
