A 20-30 minute walk from the train station/centre but there is public transportation nearby. There are also a couple of supermarkets nearby. The front desk staff were nice enough albeit one of them seemed very confused. The room was very cramped (i.e. I had to climb over the bed to get to the window) and the walls were paper thin but at least it was adequately clean. The shower was a joke as there was nothing to keep the shower head high on the rail.

The location wasn't too bad because you could walk one block and get on the tram to take you to the main train station. Our room was a double with 2 twins that were situated head to head because the room was so narrow. You had to close the bathroom door to get out of the room to the hallway. Itf price is the only thing that matters then this is the place for you. You can see how narrow the room was from the picture.

This Hotel does not pretend to be a Novotel or Best Western. It is what it says it is! Budget friendly right in the city centre and walking distance to the marienplatz. After changing my hotel booking 3 times just about 6hours to arriving for an overnight layover of about 12 hours in Munich, and having the other hotels conveniently located within or 5 minutes to the airport inform me of a shuttle costing an extra 40 Euros plus a room that already cost 90 Euros, i decided on this hotel because i just had to see the city - The Marienplatz. The lone staff at the desk was very helpful with directions to get to the hotel via the Metro which was quick to understand if you have done the metro in Non-english speaking countries like France, Prague etc. I also found him very helpful, going the extra mile to check the time that was best for me to get on the tram to get to the airport for a very early morning flight. When my alarm went off and He called me as i had requesed and i failed o pick up the phone, he came up to my 5th floor room to give the door a bang and for this service, i give his little treasure trove a 5 for customer service because He knew i really needed to catch that flight as it was a multi-destination, 7 airports kind of trip i could not afford to break! The Hotel is as pictured! No frills with a bed to pass the night in a hurry at an incredible 39 Euros!! Best of all there is a Tram right in front of the Hotel with a lot of noise which was not loud enough to stop me from sleeping probably after an exhausting 4 hour walk to see the magnificent historical building, The New Town Hall(Neues Rathaus) housing the Spielzeug museum, a surprise invitation to light a candle at a beautiful church with great singing (The Nightfever event). The Location of the Hotel and Price is just perfect if you have a day to spend in Munich.

Room Tip: A small hotel with five floors and few rooms. I was too tired to ask for a quiet room and feared i m...

second stay at the hotel exactly a year apart. Used as a budget short stay for getting early flight out of munich airport. Only 4 stops, 5 minutes, from main station. A great place for basing yourself when exploring central munich.
Although rooms are quite small, the beds are the comfiest i have ever had in a hotel.
Breakfast is good and the staff are very helpful.
For the price, more than acceptable. I accept it is not a 4 star hotel, so do not expect 4 star service.
the hotel is also a 2 minute walk from one of the best greek restaurants i have ever been to, and I live in Greece!!! Do not miss Kreta Psiloritis II. Beautiful food, massive portions and friendly staff all at a very reasonable price.
Overall would not hesitate to return.

The hotel is near a tram station. This is the only good thing about it.

The rooms are smelly (sewage problems/lack of ventilation/dirty old carpets/smoking).

There is no effort to make your stay reasonable, staff was completely indifferent to any comment.

It seems to me they just gave up maintaining or investing in the hotel and just keep going at minimum expenses, hoping that the deceiving pictures on their website will draw some bookings in advance.
The only reason I stayed is that I had a very short and busy business trip and couldn't find the time to look for another place.
the price was comparatively low, but it still doesn't compensate for this gloomy affair.

just to be fair - linens were clean, and so was the shower that always had hot water.
breakfast is not included, costs 5 euro, but is reasonable.

Room Tip: check the toilet.

The hotel was average. I was there for 2 days. Small rooms , clean and value for money. We went during off season so it was good. Or the rates seemed too high. Its little away from the main tourist places. We dint see much additions in the room coz we dint want to spend time in the room , we wanted to roam out and explore Munich.

This is probably one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The room was cramped, smelled of cigarette smoke, and the furnishings were dirty. The carpet in particular was shabby and worn, and the walls were paper thin- TVs and other guests' conversations could be heard at a very loud volume. Room prices are unrealistic and far too expensive for what there is. The only plus point that I can think of is the location as it's quite close to the city centre. Munich is a great place to visit but I would definitely recommend staying at a different hotel!
