“Comfortable and well located”
Reviewed 31 March 2013

We stayed here for three nights over easter.

First impressions of the hotel are good, as soon as you walk in you are greeted with a concierge to take your bags and a warm welcome from reception. The hotel lobby is of modern design with dimmed lighting throughout. Everything smells brand new, the communal areas are all immaculate with plenty on staff on hand.

We opted for a deluxe room over looking the courtyard. The rooms truly are soundproofed and the beds are very comfortable. There is a large LCD TV in each room. There are enough TV channels (German and English) including BBC World, however the TV is a little difficult to navigate and most of the options on the TV are "pay per view" films and music albums.

There is wifi throughout the hotel, it is free in the lobby and a speed test showed around 10mb/s, more than fast enough. The lobby does get busy with people on their ipads making use of the free wifi, however there is enough seating to accommodate everyone and we never had a problem finding somewhere to sit.

Wifi in the rooms is expensive however.

As we were there for 3 nights we had the option to not have housekeeping and instead received a 5 Euro voucher to use at the bar each day of our stay. We collected these and treated ourselves to cocktails at the bar. We thought this was a nice option to have.

We did not try the hotel restaurant due to the price (29 Euro per person for breakfast!) - instead we went across the road to the Central Station where there are an abundance of eateries open from first thing to late at night.

The location of the hotel is very convenient for sightseeing and shopping in central Munich and we would stay again.

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms overlooking the courtyard will guarantee a good nights sleep.

A great hotel in a great position, close to the main railway station and with excellent connections to all major underground and tram lines. Just two stations away from the very centre of the city. Although in such a busy position, the rooms are quiet. Nice pool and spa area, a cozy bar and a cute inner-courtyard that I imagine to be a real inner-city getaway in spring and summer (it has snowed when we were there). The personel is extremely friendly and helpful, to be recommended.

I stayed about 5 days last summer, this hotel is very close to Hauptbanhof.
Everything was good but room cleaning was just emptying trach can every day.
They didn't vacuum my room every day.
It was very awful.
It was very nice hotel but I don want to stay another night in Munich!!!

Dear heidenroslein,

Wer are very sorry to hear about the inconveniences you encountered during your stay. Of course a daily housekeeping service is standard at our house and I have addressed this to our housekeeping manager. Hopefully you will give us another chance to demonstrate that the experienced was an exception.

I've visited Munich many times and so I was a little dubious about staying in a hotel this close to the Hauptbahnhoff - though not a dangerous area it can appear a little seedy. But the positives of the location (opposite the central railway station) won out. Anyway, you can walk to Karlsplatz in about 5 mins.

If you're after an olde-world Germanic style hotel then this won't be the hotel for you. It's modern and elegant with a stunning winter garden off the lobby, at the heart of the hotel. I was here during the heat of summer - temps in excess of 35C, so it was really pleasant to be able to sit outside and have breakfast in the garden. And what an amazing breakfast!

Had some trouble with the internet connection - was billed but the connection was lost. This is where the staff came into their own - they fixed the problem without any fuss and were warm and friendly throughout.

Thoroughly recommended.

Dear the keystotravel,

It makes us very happy to read that despite initial concerns we were able to convince you of our product and that you had a very enjoyable stay with us.

Having had a very long winter period, we are very much looking forward to enjoying the sun and the great chill out atmosphere in our inner courtyard, the Lounge 41!

Please note that compared to your last visit last summer, we have now overhauled the internet connectivity throughout the hotel and do provide internet now in all areas of the hotel.

We are looking very forward to welcoming you back soon.

Best regards,

Felix Schaller

I just stayed on 15 - 17 Mar 2013 with group. The hotel is very good location, next to shopping and city centre, good facilities (pool, bar, etc), nice buffet breakfast and good restaurant staffs.

I had dinner at Sofitel (opposite), it was such a nice dinner and very excellent service. Recommend if you have time to visit Sofitel.

On the contrary of Le Meridien, the reception was not friendly, upon check in I asked to reward the SPP points of group as the organizer. She seems didn't have the knowledge about it and said to check and get back but never.

Then, I contacted with another morning staff, no information pass and she informed to get back but never. When I back in the evening ask the reception and none of them know. One of staff tried to help but not succeed. He told to contact SPG Champion but till now I have not heard any update.

During check out Bell boy was not polite.

I also sent email and called to hotel twice today but never success. Until now, I have not heard from them, so hope that someone in this hotel will advise and send the feedback to me. I think when hotel has the reward for customers, it should be convenient and user friendly. This is very difficult process I had ever experienced under Starwood brand.

Please be careful to check the reward condition carefully before stay this hotel.

Stayed at this property recently, great location with hauptbahnof 1min walk across the road, 10 minute walk to marienplatz and hofbrauhaus. The rooms were modern and clean with a nice large marbled bathroom that consisted of a great power shower an a decent bath. The bar area was a nice meeting point before heading down to the beerhalls near marienplatz. The only negative i have about this hotel is the spa area, me and my girlfriend went down to use the sauna my self in a pair of shorts and gf in her bikini as i entered the sauna 2 naked german men were shouting no trousers and 3 naked females were also in there. I think the hotel needs to address this problem because for me it is not right to sit there boloko with ur partner and 5 strangers. Apart from that i would recommend the hotel
