“Perfect Location :)”
Reviewed 30 October 2013

We’ve stayed at the Le Meridien during the Oktoberfest, which I assume is one of the busiest times during a year for all hotels in Munich. Nevertheless, all staff was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is located in the city center, across from the main train station and only minutes away from the shopping areas and the Oktoberfest. Although my room was facing the train station towards a main street, there was no street noise noticeable in the room. The room itself was very nice, with a great bathroom and the typical Le Meridien amenities.
I’ll always return to the Le Meridien for private or business travels when in Munich again.

Great location opposite main train station and also links to underground network. Reception very slow, all counters manned but no speed with service. Room given was spacious and clean. Good hotel and served its purpose for a 1-night stay.

We stayed here during Oktoberfest and it was a brilliant location for getting around by foot. It is at the back of the HauptbahnHoff (main railway Station). We took the airport bus - very reasonable at 16 Euro return - a 40 minute journey from the airport with only one stop. It stops at the HauptbahnHoff and it is a walk through the station to the hotel at the rear.
The hotel is everything you would expect from a 5* hotel. It is modern and very clean. Felix on reception was particularly helpful and all the staff spoke perfect English.
The room was spacious and luxurious. We had a room overlooking the inner courtyard, which has been done beautifully. As a result, it was very quiet and we had a great nights sleep.
Due to Oktoberfest, we had very late nights. Housekeeping were very accommodating in letting us sleep into the afternoon. Felix extended our checkout time on the last day from noon til 2 pm which we appreciated.
WI-FI is free in the reception, chargeable in the rooms.
We didn't have breakfast in the hotel due to the lateness of getting up but there are many great eating places in and around the hotel.
Be prepared for a lot of begging in and around the hotel area. It is sad to see that a great nation like Germany allows (or it is necessary for) its severely disabled citizens to display their disabilities on the street and beg. We encountered several women with disabled children begging and it was upsetting to see in a European city.
I would definitely stay here again due to its central location and the friendliness of the staff and quality of the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the inner courtyard.

My wife and I stayed here for a nice weekend to celebrate my birthday and we couldn't have been more pleased. We had a dreadful journey to Munich, but when we arrived at the hotel this was all quickly forgotten. Our room was ready, way before check-in time AND we got an upgrade to the Starwood Prefered Guest Level. The room was clean, spacious, luxurious, elegant and quiet. Everything we wanted. We knew we were going to a nice hotel, but they really exceeded our expectations. Complimentary coffee and water were provided, the only downside is the (expensive) charge for WIFI, altough understandable due to the legal boundaries in Germany a bit excessive. The breakfast was probably the best I have had in a hotel anywhere, bread is fresh and plentiful, but also of good quality. There is a huge variety of juices and items to choose from. The only downside is the amount of people there, especially the ones letting their kids run around and touching all the food, however again there is the excellent staff that are actually doing the parenting job (which they shouldn't have to). On the second night when we returned to our room, there was a cake with a note to wish me a (belated) happy birthday, which came as a wonderful surprise and really showed they look at the details. This memory will always stay with me and the complete experience will ensure that we will go back there and we will keep on recommending this hotel to our friends and family. A final and special mention to Miriam from Guest Relations who checked us in and out and provided us with the birthday surprise, thank you very much!!! Let me finish with the only negative thing that can be mentioned about this hotel, the hotel is excellent situated right accross from the train station, but the neighboorhood is not so good and once you walk to the old town (which is less than 5 minutes away) there are a lot of beggars on your way.

Had a few different hotels I was kicking around for our stay in Munich and after a week of endlessly searching hotels in Munich I made my decision to stay at Le Meridien Munich!

I read a few reviews about being a dodgy part of town due to the train station but we didn't see that at all. The hotel is centrally located across the street from the main station, a short walk to Marienplatz, Tollwood Christmas market and easy access to the metro and street cars. There are some great cafes nearby and a couple nice restaurants (Salt is fantastic).

The staff was happy to be working, really accommodating, spoke English and were generally made us very welcome to the fine city of Munich. The lobby and bar areas were decorated for Christmas and the service was good. The rooms were much bigger than I was anticipating and in great condition.

I love beer, I love pretzels, I love Munich and can't wait to come back!

Room Tip: Be nice and ask for an upgrade if you're a SPG member. Worked for me!

We stayed here 3 nights - and they did their best to bring the flavor of the festival into the hotel. It's located across the street from the train station with many shops and places to eat nearby. The rooms were spacious & modern. A tub /separate shower! Very nice

Solid hotel, with a good restaurant and bar. Rooms were very large by European standards. The hotel was exceptionally clean.

We stayed here during Oktoberfest, and the hotel was lovely oasis from the party. It was in very easy walking distance of the train station, the Oktoberfest grounds, and the old town. The staff were lovely, and all spoke perfect English.

It seemed that at other times of the year, the hotel may lean a bit more towards the business traveler than the leisure traveler, but it is suitable for both.

The price could not be beat for the quality and time of year. Overall, a solid choice for central Munich.
