For train or public transportation you can't do better, but the close by walk toward the center of Munich is pretty distasteful for several blocks. Better to cross the street to the other side.
Rooms are large and bathrooms have both tub and stall shower with soap and lotion amenities and wash cloths. Comfortable bed and large flat screen wall mounted TV.
Lobby is busy with not very comfortable seating, very deep seats so hard to lean back, inner courtyard garden, quiet and cool (we hit a heat wave).
The façade is all glass that has been painted with something like water colors in whirly designs which sorry to say I felt looked a bit tacky since Meridian is an upscale hotel. I was disappointed in that respect. Check-in staff were efficient and friendly and held our bags for a later departure. We did not eat in the hotel.
Other than its outward appearance and surroundings the hotel is quite nice.

I think the restaurant at LeMeridien is greatly underestimated and overlooked, it's really fantastic. The bar is also very nice.
LeMeridien is always a very nice contemporary choice anywhere. I love the brand.
Munich has two main locations, one is the city center and the other is the Train station, this hotel is just across the street from the Train station, which is perfect if you want to make side trips. Going to Neuschwanstein, Nürnberg, Bamberg or the Ski resorts is easy from here.
The rooms can be a bit too simple, not small but not big either, the decoration is also very standard.
In general I was very happy to stay here.
The only downside to the entire LeMeridien brand is; they charge dearly for their internet. I'll never understand how hostels, cafés, and even the city can offer free internet and they want to make a fortune out of it. Not even the minibar prices are so out of touch as their internet price.

We've stayed at this hotel now 4 times (3 of them for the Christmas Markets) and will consider whether to stay again.

Plus points:
- good location opposite the train station so convenient for the Airport trains and generally using the Munich Public transport
- friendly welcoming staff in all parts of the hotel
- pool and steam/sauna area, good for post Christmas Market days
- good concierge, helped when BA delayed my luggage and we left something in the room after checking out
- concierge sell day tickets (get a partner card if travelling as two even if just friends)
- large rooms and also separate bath and shower which is great

Negatives and reason for thinking about a different hotel next time:
- paying for wifi in rooms is not acceptable these days. If family run, small and independent hotels can offer free wifi I'm sure large multinationals can. I know it's provided free for top tier SPG but seriously they need to offer this now to all as some of the larger have started too
- charging €10 euros for an extra hour in the room past the 12pm checkout. I've never bothered for my past stays but this time it would have been helpful (as we had to change our plans due to BA delaying my luggage for 24 hours). In the end reception agreed not to charge but we decided not to bother. I'm disappointed that Le Meridian think that's acceptable. If you want a extension over a couple of hours by all means charge a sliding scale but to immediately charge €10 is purely profiteering
- whilst there is a wide selection of breakfast items, the hot buffet wasn't kept hot so best bet is either continental or have fresh cooked omlet

So on balance good location and great rooms, but feel like they are now taking advantage of their location and perhaps time to try somewhere new. As others have said the Sofitel is in the same location....

Great hotel, large bed, huge room. Very nice business hotel..... Stayed for 1 week!

Right across from central station with lots of fast food options.

A/C wasn't the best I like it real cool though which is a rarity in Europe.

Room Tip: 4th floor is the best!

This hotel is next to the Munich train station, which was very convenient for us as we were flying out early the next morning and needed to be able to get the airport quickly. However, as to be expected with a hotel next to a train station, the neighborhood is crowded and can be on the grittier side. That being said, our room overlooking the courtyard was wonderful--very spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable. It was also easy to get to wherever we were going in Munich, either on foot or via public transit. The breakfast buffet is quite overpriced, but the food was decent. Overall, I was pleased with my stay.

I stay in this hotel very frequently, but mostly because of the SPG benefits and because my company has an agreement with them.

The hotel looks fine, but it is very basic. Service is also not really special either and what is most annoying is that you normally need to pay for internet access.

The best part about it is the breakfast, where you have a very wide choice and highly qualitative products.

Room Tip: Choose whatever room you desire. They are usually very quiet.
