We stayed here for two nights after booking fairly last minute. The reviews on booking.com give this hotel a much better score than trip advisor which is what prompted me to book it.
The hotel was refurbished in the last few years & is quite nice. We booked a double room & found it to be acceptable. The bathroom is tiny but after travelling Europe for quite some time you come to expect this! The bed was firm & comfortable & the minibar was stocked. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the road which we probably would have used had it have been summer time. Our room also had a kettle & some tea & coffee which I thought was a nice touch. Hotels in Europe aren't big on putting kettles in hotel rooms.
The street outside is quiet, we probably could have slept with the window open & not been disturbed. There is a tram straight into town about a 5 minute walk away & a supermarket just around the corner.
Parking is €6 for 24 hours - good luck finding a park as the on street parking is also for locals. You must pay for parking Mon-Sat (only Sunday is free). The hotel does have 'some' parking behind the hotel, we arrived at 6pm in Friday & it was already full! We were lucky that we found a park on the street just around the corner.
Breakfast to be honest was a nightmare! The breakfast rooms are tiny & the placement of the food is not at all well thought out. The first morning we sat downstairs & the second morning we sat upstairs. I felt sorry for the staff! They were working like machines - there were people everywhere making demands regarding breakfast & people waiting around for fresh tables.
I like to take my time at breakfast but the way this is set out you have to take your time as you spend time waiting for people to get out of the way! The plates are in the middle of the 'procession line', the toast up the other end & the cereal beside the toast. In the end we just sat around & waited for the line to clear then took our opportunity to load up our plates!
These things aside, the breakfast buffet was delicious! There is a good variety of things to eat & the staff continually top up things that are empty so there is always fresh things for you to enjoy.
This hotel suited us as it allowed us to park relatively cheaply as well a be close to the city. The staff were friendly & helpful. We would stay here agin if we were to come back to Munich.
