“Cozy Hotel, Great Location”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

The hotel is very nice with very friendly staff. We received great tips for things to see and places to eat. The breakfast was delicious with warm rolls and loaves of great bread along with the usual german breakfast fare. The location is great: close to trams, Nymphenburg Palace, grocery store/bakery and a super beer garden. It is a 3 block walk to the tram and a 10 minute ride to the city center. Tram/bus/subway tickets are available at the main desk. The hotel is located in a queit residential neighborhood. The only noise we heard was folks leaving the beer garden on a Saturday night.

There was some parking onsite, and our room had air-conditioning. I would happily return to this hotel.

Located in a quiet suburb away from the city. Easily reached by accessing a tram on the excellent local transport system. The room was very clean and ample in size. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the Hirschgarten, a lovely Beer Garden where we ate 3 nights in a row. The reception staff were able to arranged at the last minute, a great tour of Dachau. The Hotel is the ideal place to spent a few days to relax in the middle of a hectic European vacation. Recommended

Overall a good, but not great hotel.

The breakfast was average continental style.

Rooms were not that quite, there was noise from both the outside and inside.

The staff was mixed, one of the front desk guys was very helpful, the other one was a LOT less so.

The area itself was VERY nice, and found this to be a great base camp for touring the local castles and Munich.

The internet was useless - it was very slow and kept kicking you off. Other guests had the same problem, but they were not able to address it during my stay.

200 Meters to the world's largest beer garden. In a quiet neighborhood with local restaurants, no tourists at all in this area. But, I never felt unwelcome in the area.

The hotel is easy to reach (if in Munich, get used to the public transportation system, it is great). We had no car, had no trouble finding the place nor getting to and from on a daily basis.

The staff was friendly, it is family owned, but not family run as I think we only saw 'employees'. That is okay, as they were helpful and pleasant to be around.

To city center is a 5 minute walk, 10 minute tram and a 5 minute S Bahn - perfect.

I had a suite on the 3rd floor and loved the open windows to the cool evening, with no bugs. the room was very clean and comfortable.

The reception is only there until 10:00pm, but you can come in anytime as you can gain access - no worries, but be aware they aren't there after 10:00pm.

Lastly, for safety conscious Americans, you had to lock the door from the inside with a key, which meant to exit, you had to unlock the door. As a result, we left the key in the door (just in case we need to make a hasty exit). Not a big deal, but I've never seen this in a hotel.

The price was outstanding, the location was perfect for us. I would stay here every time I'm in Munich. Well done.

Room Tip: It is more money, but I liked the suite on 3rd floor, plus it had A/C if you wanted it.

Stayed in the family suite at Hotel Kriemhild with our two teenage sons. The room was very spacious and quite comfortable for the four of us. The hotel is extremely well maintained and meticulously spotless. We enjoyed the quiet location just outside of the Munich city center. We walked a few short blocks to the market every day where we picked up breakfast, snacks, and picnic dinners to take to the beer gardens. We did not have car but had no problems using the trams to get to the sites we wanted to see (BMW Museum, Marianplatz, Airport, etc.).

Highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

My experience here was in line with other reviews on TA: this hotel is in a quiet suburban location, but close to good tram transport to the city centre. The people on the desk, and the person who serves breakfast, are charming and helpful, and the hotel offers excellent value for money. The hotel was full all the time that I was there, and that this is the case is very understandable.

There are a couple of supermarkets where the trams stop, and one is only a short walk from the Chateau Nymphenberg, which is surrounded by woods with walking paths through them. The beer garden Hirschgarten, which is nearby, is well worth a try - although it is not cheap, and the beer is stronger than one might imagine!

When I'm next in Munich, I'll be back.

Room Tip: The single room I had right above the reception room was a little noisy when guests were coming in a...

Booked this hotel on the strength of the TA rating, was not dissapointed by any means! Very, very warm welcome and staff always very happy to talk or see you. The breakfast was a great selection to be served from such a small area of breakfast room. A sign said they were full on at least one of the nights we were there, but the other guests, room sound proofing or both made it feel quiet and relaxed. My only slight quibble was the wifi, which didn't seem to like my iPad in our room, however wifi reception seems to be a difficult thing for anywhere to get 100% right; my partner's phone was fine and we could also sit in the breakfast room to use a better signal at any point.

Incredibly close to the Hirschgarten, meaning extra cheap evening dining and beer for anyone watching the euros. Room of good size for two who usually share, shower had good punch and your own electric heated towel rail is always handy. If there was a Kriemhild in every city that we wanted to visit on a budget then I'd book in an instant.

Room Tip: We booked quite late and ended up with a balcony without asking for it. No air con in rooms but r...
